well as your local capcom representative let me inform you that with champion addition you get,

all 40 characters including Gill and the TBA at capcup, over 200 costumes, a preorder exclusive costumes for all characters (weird blue glow but looks kinda cool), 37 stages and access to a new mode (i think). all for one great price of £20

(dont know what it is in dollar, not from murica).

Balance patch and new V-skills come free.

People all over the net are ranting and raving about how Capcom said that SF5 wouldn't have more than one version. Just like when AE was announced, people seemed to have misinterpreted what was actually stated. What was stated was that you wouldn't have to buy the game more than once. And AE was a free update for those that had already bought SF5 beforehand. This seems to be the case for CE as well. Stuff like the new V-skills and other gameplay mechanics are free. The only stuff people that already own the game will have to actually buy are cosmetics. And those are optional.

Champion Edition should be called Farewell Edition. It’s obvious that unless they need to roll out a hotfix to mend any severe balance issues and/or glitches, the patch after the 40th character and Capcom Cup will be the final build.

I don’t have faith in the V-Skill II shaking up the meta much. Most characters will either keep their V-Skill I because it’s so good (e.g. G and Ibuki) or will pick V-Skill II because their V-Skill I is terrible (e.g. Claw and F.A.N.G). Besides, Capcom largely bungled V-Trigger II, as most characters still use VT1 since it way better.

I've not checked myself but a friend pointed out that the free theme included with the upgrade is erroneously titled "Street Fighter V - Definitive Edition" so it may well be that they planned for this to be the closing version. If that's the case it will be a real shame if the game's content isn't included on the physical disc and instead takes AE's download code route (not just because a code would tie characters/cosmetics to a single CFN account).

Ono said in a Eurogamer interview that after the next big updates they'll be locking the game down for a while "until the tournament is over". I guess that might mean the end of the 2020 Pro Tour (EDIT: from context he's clearly talking about the Intel World Open, which ends on 24th July)? I wouldn't be surprised or too disappointed if this was the "final" iteration of SFV but the wording kinda implies updates may come after. It might just be some farewell tweaks to the overall balance I guess.

game lags like shit and rashid vskill 2 is cancer. wtf were they thinking? it's like mk11 jik but even more degenerate. just delete this character.

The divide in tiers is a lot less now, seems everyone is definitely more viable now. Also Gill is the projectile master, dude has so many things to make his ass so fun. Also necallis vskill 2 is really useful.
