More reasons how this game rewards you for playing neutral and not staying in your opponent's face 100% of the time. F4 walk back is better to do than F4 and any other offensive option.

If someone is mashing reversal throw to beat staggers wouldnt waiting it out and whiff punishing be a solid option? Throws do have pretty heavy recovery. Is the risk/reward really in favor of the person trying to reversal throw? Is this really a big deal?

Yes, this is stated in the op.

I understand that but your next post followed up with how stupid it is that throws can beat staggers. My point is it's risky to try it at all and any decent player will catch on and punish it. This is why I dont think it's so stupid.
That's fine, but you also give up more frames to do that as well. So that lets your opponent push buttons or get out. It's just the same neutral as always except in this case a throw can catch normals they otherwise wouldn't. It's not as stupid as I originally thought either.

One last thing I want to add to this topic that I suddenly remembered when I woke up is, when a throw and a normal hit on the same frame, the game chooses the winner randomly-ish. Neither has a pre-defined priority.
That just seems odd to me. I always thought the basic idea around throws in fighting games was that throws beat blocking, blocking beats strikes, and strikes beat throws, so I would think in the case of a tie the priority would go to the normal.

The rock/paper/scissors concept is just a general concept not a specific what happens at a frame-perfect trade situation rule.

Any decent player is going to catch on to ANYTHING that will ruin their stagger.

whether it is a throw or a button

I'm going to be that guy, because you were just a total dick.

Maybe next time just post this first without all the asshole replies... where you kind of spread bad info just like Chance?

Like your status said "Sad day in the TYM office."

I don't think I was being a dick. I kept discussing back and forth with Chance to clear up misunderstandings and even corrected myself when I said I expected stuff to work one way and that I'd double check on it.

Regarding the link I literally said I suddenly remembered about that twitter post so...

Sad day it was because TYM OGs like yourself who I had high regards for were freaking out about things that seemed obvious and blowing things way out of proportion.

But either way, I hope things are cleared up now.

At the time it appeared that the original OP was true.

Nothing in NRS games is obvious. I don't think it is fair to ever say a mechanic in NRS that seems fishy is obvious that it isn't. Turns out the OP wasn't correct, but neither were you.

I mean we have a mechanic that "randomly" determines a winner in the context that was being discussed. It wasn't posted in the game... or in a forum... it is on twitter... where if you don't follow said person... you'd never know.

Thankfully YOU did and could post it up to clarify, to which i'm grateful because I didnt' know.
