Something I noticed on accident that may be well known....

apparently in F22, Noob drops his hitbox on the 2nd 2 to duck high projectiles. I went right under an up close LK fireball and popped him in the neutral, and did not react quick enough, quickly lost my turn while I was shocked and lost lol.
I replayed the match and sure enough, the fireball went right over me and my shadow hit LK.

Sickle port is THE WORST air teleport in the game by a mile

You will never convince me otherwise. That hitbox lingers for a year and a half and punishes nothing.

at least air teleport is fast, and the hitbox gets off the screen and can be used to punish on reaction and not a read.

SD is probably better now that DS simply because most of the top tiers can punish b1 1+3 on block, essentially removing his ability to "get away" with the auto shimmy.

SD is simply oppressive as all hell though. Constantly staying mid range and harrassing you. It is a nice change of pace.

Its a pretty simple formula.
If(canPunishb1_1+3)
use SD
else
use DS

Hell... even some of the MUs with DS get easier with SD, because he's so oppressive.

I changed my mind after seeing how easily you get the shadow KB.

I've come to this conclusion as well. I hesitate to take it fully seriously how easy the new KB is until we see the community adjust to SD. I get away with some pretty cheap shadow slides and my opp clearly is not knowing the match up.
When the community adjusts is when we'll really know. Right now, it is MILES easier to open an opponent up for damage with SD over DS. Those quick 16-260 dmg hits in the netural add up QUICK.

If you think its that simple you rely on B1 way too much, its not even his best button. I would say it is probably his 5th best button behind D3, F2, D4, and B3
with a bar of offensive meter in SD b1 is his best button, his 2nd best button, his 3rd best button

9 frame counter poke to get into safety range and not give up your turn.

It literally IS that simple.

Against those that can't punish the 1+3... same thing.

This is the game. Why counter poke when you can counter with a string that on hit... gives you massive damage... and on block puts you in the range you want to be anyway?

I'm not saying the buttons are bad. They just aren't his best.

I'm actually willing to talk about d4 though now that it is this supreme AA machine.

I experimented with d4+mb slide or regular slide. It really catches people off but it's hard to pull off consistently lol.

I mean d3 D1 opens up f2 etc and throws. Also it provides variance to throw off player reaction.

I personally don't believe an ordered list of best move is valid for any character. There are definitely some worst moves, but it's a set of tools that make characters work.

Maybe not "best" but "most used". If that's the case tho Id have B2 even ahead of B1. B1 in SD is reserved for pretty specific scenarios. Basically just on a read for staggers or fishing for a shimmy into the KB. If I want to safetly get somone off me im doing 9 frame D3/D4 then jailing into S2 or F2 stagger on top of another stagger when I cancel into slide or not.

So, have you guys dabbled with 212, F221, Slide? Is there any visual cue or timing to make sure it works? I've noticed it works much easier on female hitboxes, it's 300 damage and 2 Shadow Moves in SD.

That is the go to bnb but it is a bitch to hit consistantly online. Visual cue is based off the height of the opponents body and there are 2 different timings to hit it

Guys, what are the most consistent optimal damage combos in the corner off of each starter string (f2212, 113, 212, b1 1+3) with seeing double post patch?

Edit, looking for 1 bar combos mainly

Jade kick, Sub slide, Liu flying kick. Those type of fast-mid range moves dominate Noobs neutral if you aren't super cautious.
Cassie Shadow Kick, Johnny Cage Shadow Kick, Jacqui's dash punch, Jax FB, to think of a few. Geras I think quick sand.

Yea I feel like I can idiot. I can never hit the F2212 after 212. Meanwhile I can 113, amp tele, 113, B1,1+3 no problem.

I mainly do:

F221 + db4 d1 113+bf2

113+bf3 mb d1 113+bf2

212 4+db4 d1 113+bf2

B1 1+3 bf3 mb d1 113 + bf2

I mainly avoid ending combos with b1 1+3 on the corner since that pushes you quite away from the opponent. With the 113 starter you can get like 47% with the shadow tackle KB.

212 f2212 is alot harder than tele 113 113.
For sd it's always d1 d1 113 ex slide or b11+3 for more consistency maybe. Ex. F221 db4 d1 d1 113 slide

Played alot more sd. I admit it got alot more fun to play but to me Sabbath is superior still

I assume by bf1 you mean bf3 (slide)? If so im not sure how the b1 1+3 starter combo works? It seems to push me too far from the corner to connect anytjing after amp slide?

All other combos are great, thanks!

I assume ex slide because bf1 is so slow it doesnt combo
