Universal OS? (Concept video)

MK11's Blocking OS
This OS will out right beat or counter your opponent's defensive options in one form or another. The input itself is fairly simple; :d:blk + whatever special or command normal you want to come out in a neutral state, I'll explain the reason later. This OS covers 4 options:

14893

  1. Teching Back & Front Throws
  2. Getup Attacks
  3. Getup Rolls
  4. Blocking
Throws
Most of time back throw will be use against you, so it is in your best interest to make sure your special or command normal input includes 1/3. If your opponent is catching on to what you are doing and starting to front throw you instead; use 2/4 accordingly .

Getup Attacks
When it comes to the timing of this OS your best bet is to time it to there getup attacks. Why? Because the start-up is much faster then the throw and getup rolls

Getup Rolls
This is where the special and command normal input comes in to play. In the video down below I use Scorpion as one of the example. Scorpion's OS input is :d:blk + :r:fk, if the opponent forward roll, Teleport will come out and if they decides to back roll the F3 comes out; Both will punish these options.

Blocking
One of the glaring issues with this OS is that if YOUR opponent decide to just block on there wake-up, the OS will still come out, because you are in a neutral state. So when choosing the right input for this OS make sure the special or command normal is safe or safe-ish

Here is a visual representation of this OS, hope you enjoy!

1.As you might of seen in the video, Rayden's OS is special because he can actually Flawless Block U3 to punish the getup attacks
2. Most getup attacks that are Flawless block becomes F.C.P because 4 to 5 Frames are add to the attack
3.Because some KBs are active off a punish, this OS becomes very strong; here's an example

Impression
My thoughts on this OS, is that it is very strong when using the right inputs for it. Strong chars will get stronger and the weaker ones will get a somewhat level playing field. I don't see this OS being remove for quite some time, because it would require NRS to rework somethings, but I could be wrong.

If you have any question or having trouble getting this OS to work for your char, don't hesitate to tag me in this thread or PM'd me

What I really like about this tool is the potential conditioning on the opponent. A decent amount of characters right now do not have reliable restands and the getup system is too strong right now. This OS will hopefully have the opponents begin to respect you leaving them two options in delay or normal getup to begin the sequences again.

inb4 "I hope nrs is currently working on patching this out" or "I hate option selects (mostly because they can't do them" hide your tech 2019

Wow! Good eye. The input for Scorpion's OS needs to be changed then. Rest assured though, that forward roll can be punish.

Look at Kano's OS for example.
Yah man, just make sure you set to auto block on recovery. The jade one did not punish forward roll as well. Pretty sure the raiden tele can also be punish since it looks like they recover before he does. But still looks useful nonetheless. I have something for noob Saibot that works like this as well but isn’t an os. Just punishes every wakeup option

Even though from the looks of it Kitana would benefit greatly from this, I feel that OS’s should not exist. They take the brains out of the game.

I am really not trying to nay say this great tech, but I am having serious trouble actually getting a punish on the forward roll with scorpion's teleport. Even when I stack the odds in my favor and cheat the inputs, its almost impossible for me to get a punish on the recovery frames of the roll.

Is anyone else having any trouble with this? I am able to perform the other ones posted for other characters, but it just seems scorpion's teleport is just too slow to actually punish the forward roll with this OS.

@azeth123
Thanks to you and some others for the feedback, it allows me to refine the OS.

But you are right when it comes to Scorpion's Teleport being slow to punish the forward roll. May I suggest doing this input instead? D, BLK + B3

B3 should punish the forward roll and teleport will come out for the back roll. Hopefully it punish both.

I will do some more testing when I get off work. I have also been trying variations to include B2, throw, etc to see what kind of options we might be able to squeeze in there. Thanks for communicating this tech we can chew on.

Thanks for posting.

Option select meta sucks. Hope we eventually see NRS come up with an answer.
There are instances where option selects are interesting and arguably improve the health of the meta, but they're few and far between. This doesn't seem so bad with wakeup options being as absurd as they are, but I'd like to see it addressed if possible---at the same time they realize having 27 trillion options on wakeup is a bit much.

Just out of curiosity, why do you have to press d block.
And why do you have to use special moves.

I just tap block then do whatever string etc. Maybe there is something different going on.

what makes it easy for raiden to flawless block the getup attacks?

Did this at my locals yesterday. This is amazing and if you're good at the timing you can flawless block if they choose to getup attack

Something that I also found is that if you can combine this with the throw tech option select to cover both throws and still punish rolls

This works midscreen too but you need to use different strings if they backroll

What throw tech OS to cover both throws?

So for example you can do down block ~ 2,1 instead and can hit confirm a special if it hits and if they roll, if they getup attack you block and if they throw in any direction you tech it
Like there's no way this actually works right. Or it's the switch version or something. I feel like if pressing both tech buttons quickly broke both throws it'd be way more known.

I’ve tried this before and it didn’t work for both throws. For the forward throw I could do 1-2, for the back throw I could do 2-1. But I couldn’t do 1-2 for both options. I’ll try it again once I get home.

Try different timings with the buttons

I literally found this out like the second week the game came out. Tried to tell people but they didn't believe me and just dismissed it. Oh well.:DOGE
