I doubt it. Cassie is really popular too out of the characters introduced in MKX. No reason to think Johnny and Sonya won't end up getting together again and having Cassie.

Yeah, and this is what irritates me. NRS just lost their balls. I can't stand the Injustice story. I thought One was nice and then Two, I was like "Alright....okay. I don't need this anymore."

Cassie was my favorite Kombat Kid too. I actually /really/ liked that character. So, now that's probably trashed. I need to keep my distance from story and being attached to Mortal Kombat characters and it seems really clear because NRS sucks at this shit. And people can get on my case, I don't care. I want to love these characters but then they pull really dumb shit like "Hey, we developed Hanzo. Fuck it. Kill him." "Hey, we made these really cool new characters for the next generation. Fuck it. Fuck them. Restart."

It reminds me of MvC. MvC3 had no story. Was awesome. Fight Galactus at the end. They knew what they're capable of. MvCi took a ton of money. Tried it. It sucked.

If the next Mortal Kombat just includes a standard "fight the bad guy at the tournament" story, I think I'm fine. NRS isn't capable of this shit.

Yeah, but remember the MKX comics and how it went. The game barely acknowledge anything, and then in MK11 the comics are not even considered canon.

I have an idea.

They could do a simple story since that's what 90 percent of fighting game writers are capable of and they could actually approve of the comics before they go otu.

That sounds phenomenal.

Or, you know what? Just next time, make a game with a really nice sized roster and no complicated story. I don't think anyone is going to lose their mind.

My guess is that Krypt will answer all the remaining questions, such as where were Takeda and Kung Jin. We know Kenshi's fate.

Does Young Sonya stay in the same timeline as Cassie? After her chapter the leakers didn’t mention her again. I really don’t want her to be doomed to getting blown up in the future...

I can't wait for the justification of characters missing next game to be "lol see but they no exist no more lols".

How anyone grows attached to any character in this fucking franchise is beyond me. I don't get it.

If this really is an excuse to start all fresh and new, and a way to justify where some characters are, it'll be pretty shit.

Also was 16 bit in the storyboard room? Why have Kitana take Kotal's Kahn title if you are going to make her ruler supreme of all reality? It weakens him. Just have him keep Kahn status and kill Shao Kahn or something

Honest to God, as an outsider looking in? Preach.

I look back at some of the old MK games, some I played, some I haven't. Damn, did this series just seem so much more fun when it didn't try to be so dark, brooding, and serious. I know it's always been "brooding" but holy shit, is this to new levels.

Yeah, this story ends in a really shittacular way. Resets are never the answer.

This is like if Avengers End Game ends with a reset. No one would be happy because reseting development and progression is a trash thing to do to a fanbase that put time, and love into the characters and stories you made along the way.

Dude this is the worst story ever from a Mortal Kombat. It makes no sense. I cannot understand what Kronika wanted. Did she succeed? Wtf.

I agree with SupaJ, this was a waste of time and resources that could have been spent on literally anything, whether that be larger roster or more focus on the mess that variations are seeming to be.

This game feels soulless on the story side. So lets get rid of the story.

Back to only caring about these tournaments boiiiis
