I played against J360 off stream as well as Riu48 all day and night on Wed and Thursday. You seriously have no idea what you are talking about, and this makes me change my views on your opinions. They are retarded.

I've been playing a lot of these players more often than others because I travel to many tournaments.

And the fact that you believe that there is no difference between tournament and casuals makes me laugh a bit. I got 9th place at NEC, and the only person I lost to that night was against CD, the only player I had trouble against.

My point was that anyone trying to dismiss a tournament based on who wasn't there should either be consistent and discount everything since EVO or STFU.
I watched both pass the salt and SCR, and was impressed by the quality of players at both.

It is ludacris and naive to assume every tournament is created equal. If not all the top players are there it CAN'T be weighed as heavily. I'm not saying SCR was watered down but if I wanted to compare Osu and Detroit, I'd say they are both top ten players in the game but Detroit won a bigger tourney.

NEC was bigger than SCR. Fact is fact.

Final Round = biggest event since Evo 1500 point event easy.

There's no doubt in my mind that FR is gonna be the best thing to happen to MK since EVO & SJ put together.
That being said...you can almost hear the crickets chirping in the WB thread .
I know a lot of the further-away fighters aren't gonna be able to manage traveling to both in that short a time period, but it could be argued that there's no higher concentration of dedicated players than in the Northeast, and seeing as by the time the Brawl is upon us, it will have been 4 months since an NE player took a Major home (Even though Mr. Hanks did indeed add himself to the rank of Champions in VA), it would be fitting that, before all the nation's MK forces are gathered in Atlanta, that the arguably most well-known region for this game get its best and brightest together and show said nation's forces the badassery and bloodshed we're capable of producing. Not to mention, with Apex to start off the year, and Revolution X as 2 excellent starting point opportunities, you have all the time and positioning necessary to turn Winter Brawl into a slightly-less-populated NEC on damage-boost-steroids and prove that EVERY Kombat major is worth tuning in and marking out.

But again...Final Round...Holy shit, I'm hyped to see that.

My criticism of those Philly tournaments is that they wait way too long to announce the dates. A lot of us need months in advance to make plans. It's ridiculous. They give you like 9 weeks to plan ahead. We've had 9 months to arrange for Final Round.

I didn't know that.
I never check the dates until the last minute myself (since I live in Philadelphia)...I didn't even know WB was in February this time around. Haha.

I'm not really fond of the current venue either.
They used to be in a much more awesome location...but then again, I don't know how the internet was in the old venue since streaming wasn't popular back then.
But I've been going to NEC for getting close to a decade now and I hate this venue, with its frequent power outages, and hard to reach location (unless you flew in, but all venues are easy to access from the airport anyway).
At the old NEC venue, Eric's son used to make everyone burgers...best burgers ever (especially since you're starving, and have probably entered half a dozen tournaments, and in the losers bracket of half of them).
And the Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! Money matches!! OMFG I miss those tournaments.
We're lucky to get free cake now. That's still awesome.

Point taken. I kind of felt the same.
I'd heard at NEC it was going to be in the same venue, it seemed like it'd already been established, but when no one said anything for some time after, I took it as a sign of no dice. Then out of nowhere, *POOF*, dates and details are up, but everyone's already looking towards Atlanta.
So now it's gonna be an uphill battle just to get this thing sufficiently filled up...but like I said, at least with so many talents within reaching distance of it, there's a pretty good chance we'll still get a great show out of it. I hope. *hopes*

You're kidding me, your main was Eddy? Did you win with him in your TTT tourney? Eddy's my favorite fighting game character of all time. Do you still play Tekken? Do you have Tekken 6 on PS3? I'd like to learn how to play him legitimately if you're up for it.

Ya you didn't know slips played Eddy? That was who he was known for in TTT days. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it was Eddy Julia or was it michelle. He's the first player outside of Rawbdawg to ever do anything with Eddy at a major tournament. I wish Rob never went to jail I would've loved to see Rob vs Slips in an eddy mirror. Then again I quit before slips started his TTT dominance. Hell I quit before JOP and atlanta were lighting up the scene.

Hope slips gets into TTT 2 I'm planning to try to get back to that level and would love to play with some other old school players.

Oh and good shit to 16 bit for winning SCR though I didn't agree with your views on Tekken or marvel.
