I wonder how strong Oki will be in this game as the safe armoured wakeups seem to have a smaller hitbox that hits just infront of them. I wonder if a sweep/hard knockdown will be abke to set you up for a cross up that could punish a whiffed armoured wake up. If so the Hop universal overhead could be pretty good.

I followed you all the way to the hop universal OH. How do you think that would apply to the WU game?

Because the Hop OH causes a knockdown on hit instead of hit stun like a street fighter game, it might not always be a great option if they can get an armoured wake up pretty quickly after.

Will need to see some videos on how fast people recover after.

Ah I see what you're saying now. Yea would be good to see someone test this out during the stress test.

Does anyone know if you can get a full combo off any of the short hop buttons? jw
No, not from the three characters we've seen. I'm assuming every character will be the same in this regard but there may be particular setups that could combo into it similar to Ice Clone/Fart Cloud/etc.
 
I wonder if we can unlock secret abilities in Krypt. I have never played Injustice 2 but there are dozens of unlockable abilities in that game.

Question; for Krushing Blows that are special cancellable, do you input the special move after the KB animation, or at the same time you would special cancel for a normal string?

Neither.. Kinda. I mean you do the cancel during the kb animation but close to the end of the animation. I know some people mash it over and over hoping it comes out. Personally, (in regards to Scorpion's 34KB) I wait and input the special once. The timing itself is weird because of how long you need to delay the input, but I got it consistently after a bit of practice.

Yeah it took a bit to figure out but after I did I got it consistently. If it's easy enough that I can do it then anybody can with practice.
 
Any word yet on tournament mode and how skill slots are being addressed?

Personally I want custom to be standard but with tweaks to the UI to select them at character select and have visuals that clearly and consistently show what was chosen.
 
I really hope nrs address tournament mode soon to give a clear view if variations will be locked.

Currently it is not feasible to allow custom variations which is such a waste of potential. The slot system they have is awesome, but if we can't select slots during character select this will make me sad.

Also the default view I wish was the options view which display the slot loadouts to both players. I know it is just beta but when people character select quickly you have no idea what slots they have. It should be displayed during load screen to give fair information for both players. Others like @Tom Brady have expressed concern about this but I haven't heard anything official that addresses this.

I am afraid of two things for tournament play.
1. They choose to variation lock. This removes so much potential and depth for the slot system.
2. They allow custom. But with current user interface you have to go back to kustomize and select the skills then go fight. If you wanted to change a slot between games you would have to exit again to adjust. Imagine this at a major, it would be terrible to watch in addition to our notorious button checks.

Hopefully someone has the knowledge that everything will be ok. Aftef playing over 400 games of the Beta this was really my only gripe with the game.
 
Its prob tied to killer blows somehow i have mine set to short tho and im doin fine
It shortens or widens the window in which the game will accept a special move input, essentially meaning how slow or fast you can be to fire a special move.
Krushing Blows have their own setting.
 
I am someone who loves the run mechanic and overall speed of mkx. I thought MK11 looked very slow and sluggish when i watched the beta being streamed....we will see how the final product turned out

I don't see the hop mechanic and wake up being used a whole hell of a lot in this game from what I've watched already but who knows. Time will tell of course.
