They have changed things based on fan feedback already. Sonya's face, the enhanced move input, etc. Now that this appears to be the final screen, or close to final, now seems like a reasonable time to criticize it.

I honestly haven't the slightest idea why you're even discussing this with me.

I'm still not positive the leak is for real. It could be NRS leaking it themselves ? This is all based on steam leaks which I'm still not positive on.

Possible faults of leaks:
1. The backgrounds of all renders leaked had the same background as Shao Khans reveal day 2-3!
So it could be a simple render, copy paste layer over background.

2. The icons have different sizes and some have greyed out backgrounds with kollector having a custom background.

3. Many of the icons are previous pictures released like Kabals face from Johnny Cage reveal.

4. Erron blacks icon looks like an NRS employee.

5. Johnny was revealed yet no icon or render in roster?

6. Noob is leaked with render but there isn't an icon on roster screen?

I'm not convinced so far but if it is legit I'm glad for those of you who got your favs!

If you can't re-read that and understand why its ridiculous I'm not sure what to say. I'm all for cogent criticism and you're free to have any opinion you want but come on. You're complaining about Frost's hair 21 pages in when the issue has already been discussed and its almost 100% certain she's not actually bald, and you're tossing out absurd things like the above.

How do you want me to cogently criticize that particular character? I don't like its look, and I stated as such. Granted, I was joking around a bit, and the be more creative line was unnecessary.

But who cares? I'm not raging or calling out SJWs or saying NRS is pushing feminist propaganda. I think some of you have seen too much of that garbage, and it frustrates me as much as it frustrates you. But I really don't mean to come off that way at all, and just think my post isn't a big deal.

Better remember that word well, because that was pretty much your post.

You see a small low res pick of a potential placeholder portrait of "Kollector" and goes " Looks like some Avatar reject. Be more creative next time." Same for Frost.

You keep complaining about petty stuff like, characters portraits on select screen like it's a big deal

You use the word "we" like you speak for everyone else: "Sucks that we will have to wait for DLC to play some of the most interesting characters" That's your opinion, not everyone elses'

And you bring a wall of complaints over things that are not even complete, and more important, were not even supposed to be shown to the public.

I'm a huge Mileena fan. She was the first character I bothered to get good at in MKX. But I would never cancel my preorder if she's not in.

Besides, if the rumors are to be believed then she's a secret unlockable.

Lol. Imagine canceling your preorder just to find out that Mileena actually is in the game...yikes.

I think most of this can be attributed to still being a work in progress. Missing pictures or missing accessories can be explained like that. The single character screenshots seem to detailed to be hoaxes.

Regarding the theory that it's NRS themselves (and not just one rogue employee): WHY would NRS do that intentionally? What purpose would it serve them? I can't think of a good reason.

Rave all you want about MK9, but that game had Sheeva, Stryker, and Cyber Sub Zero. Only 3 misses, and still great in my eyes.

I love absolutely love everyone they chose for MK11 though.

Would I have replaced Jacqui with Sindel? 10000% yes. That's just one miss for me. Guess what though? When they finally do reveal Jacqui, she'll probably be so badass that I'd change my mind about her altogether.

NRS knocked it out of the fucking park. They really did choose all the fan favorites from the past 9 years and even brought back Frost for people who NEED the nostalgia from the bad 3D MK games.

I'm stoked af. I honestly couldn't be happier.

I second this. The roster is on fire for me, and definitely in a good way. I am really sad for NRS, but...as some have already stated, I think the better way to market a fighting game is to reveal the roster and then do in-depth gameplay videos. Still, this was probably their worst fear, and it was sadly realized. For that, I have sympathy for them.

That said, Jade, Jacqui, Frost, Shao Kahn, Liu, Kitana, Skarlet, Sonya, Johnny, Subby, Raiden, Cassie, Noob, maybe Shang, fuck even Kano? All in? I'm in heaven ^^

And the gear, omg the gear! I was hoping for maybe 15 per category, but Noob having 31 marks? And 50 Shadow and Sickle choices? Goddamn, I'm so psyched!

NRS, while perhaps deflated by this leak, should take solace in knowing they've done one hell of job with everything in this game. The quality and content is just out of the park.

Sorry for the folks who didn't get their main this time around, or who aren't thrilled with what they're seeing. I genuinely feel for you, and hope the game is still playable in your eyes and has something positive to offer you. But me personally? I'm all in :)

Nonsense. I'm not complaining like anything is a big deal. I stated a subjective opinion, characterizing it as a "big deal" is simply your projection.

I pre-ordered the premium edition, love the gameplay, have a solid 6 characters I could main, and am hyped for the coming stress test.

All I did was make a nonchalant post about my criticisms of the roster and character select screen. If you want to nitpick about my use of "we" then fine, technically you're correct and I should have said I.

Really, as I mentioned in a previous post, I think you're lumping me in with some anti-sjw shitposters.

Off the top of my head:

1. They could easily leak for promotional purposes (saves them $$$$ not having to pay companies to air thier product).

2. They had leaks in IJ2 and others and this could be a legit way to find leakers by feeding them flase info but only giving this person/department (Kollector) or flase characters putting a spotlight on the culprit when info leaks.

3. Putting out misinformation also divides opinions and can make it hard to decerne from truth and fallacy effectively allowing NRS to go on unhindered.

Just some of my ideas but there are plenty other explanations. Many governments in history have fed false information to control outcomes.

People are just happy to see the roster. We are happy to see an updated select screen lol, they haven’t shown it since the reveal. Whoever leaked this did NRS a favor imo. But yes, they broke contract and it’s not their job or place to decide. The positives far outweigh the negatives imo but the lack of trust is a bigger issue so I get the hostility. But what’s the difference between this and IGN taking the wind out of the sails of the last kombat kast? IGN paid for it? I’m even more hyped to see these characters now. Hiding the roster was a bad move imo.

For real, no other fighting game would dare get <2 months to release with less than half the roster fully confirmed. But NRS does that exact same thing seemingly every game, no wonder leaks are always the hypest shit leading up to release.

I agree, the positives greatly outweighs the downfalls of a release 2/3rds month before Beta access on 23rd.

I think NRS gets good PR from this and doesn't have to shell out $$ to promote when it's leaked for free.

This sucks for NetherRealm because their work was shown before they could do it themselves, but for me I wouldn't say that this kills the hype at all. This is probably the most exciting thing that has happened since The Reveal event and now I'm more excited to see these characters in action. I just hope that NRS doesn't seriously think that everything has been ruined. The surprise, sure, maybe, but the hype? Nope.

I really don't think NRS would leak the roster on purpose. Seems like they put in a lot of work for the character reveals.

But I don't think it's unreasonable to think they might have leaked, given that we have seen so little of the roster at this point. Then again, maybe this is how fighting normally work? Don't hey ever wait this long to reveal much of the roster?
