I just hope this is really the case. The other characters who don't have portraits at least have their names written on their slot, so if there really is 3 unknown characters then why isn't their name there?

Not really cool, but at least I get Noob Saibot and Shang Tsung, of course no Rain, but Ed Troll is a loser, always has been a freaking troll.

No way this is fake. That Erron Black model looks too good. Not the mention that on the select there are renders of Cassie Cage, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, etc, that matches designs we have already seen. Meaning if this is a fake they had to make models and renders that actually look legit which is a TON of work.

Not really. A lot of the characters I'd like to see return are characters that a lot of people keep saying they too would love to see. Instead a lot of the returning characters are the same characters we see in almost every game. Kinda boring, imo.

That's probably the only thing I find a bit dubious. And like @aldazo said the renders do look a bit off for the characters who haven't been shown. Why Lui, Kitana, etc, not a single one outside of the steam leak has a render? Now Jax is here after the intro quote of the Kombat Kast. I dunno, I'm on the fence on this one. Could definitely be real (I like this roster), and that Erron pic came from somewhere, but wouldn't be surprised if someone had too much time on their hands.

That's because the Steam achievements leak is real.

In my opinion this is a "true" leak in the sense the source is the same that leaked the roster on Steam (that would be NRS and/or associates), but I think their intention was to leak a "partially correct roster". And I doubt the initial roster will be 34 chars, nor 28, the empty slots I assume will be for DLC. Btw, if this is true, DaddyDab was right, Shang Tsun and Jax are in. Sadly no Rain ... But there is Noob .

Listen, kids. There's 9 blank spaces, right? Obviously left for DLC. BUT didn't NRS guys said that the DLC packs would come with 6 characters instead of 4 like MKX? That leaves 3 spaces left for ppl that haven't been announced yet. There's still hope

Looking at the HD version of the image, Cetrion looks a little weird. The background behind her is completely different from the generic background behind every other character. I don't doubt the leak, just wonder what that's about.

So apparently the guy with the Reddit account was hinting that he was going to post more but then deleted his account. He could have been messing around, or maybe it means we can expect more screenshots later.

The 2 things that surprise me the most:

- After not being hinted on the implicit confirmations or the steam leak and basically being ruled out due to roster size... Jax manages to come back! :O

- The fact that the roster looks like 27 base characters (Plus Shao) rather than the 25 (Plus Shao) we thought, which could be pointing towards some secret characters (that, or this design being a placeholder).

Also, with the current distribution 6 extra KP2 DLC characters could easily be added on the lower corners.

Also, it looks more and more like Rain being an assist attack on the tower was his dead sentence, rather than the "konquest" image being his passport into the roster.

Pretty sure that isn't the background. I think she has plants attached to her similar to Poison Ivy.
