It's even less than in mkx then. This doesn't match with his words that mk11 will focus on bringing back more classic fan favorites

He also said many chracters you haven't seen in a while but that classics thing he said from people freaking out over their favorite character not being in.. of everyone you mentioned they all were expected to be in so I dont think people responded to him freaking out over them.

Yes of course, they should be konfirmed at the day one, Why NRS always have to eliminate their badass characters? In MKX, i can say same thing for Kabal, Rain, Sindel, Baraka, Noob Saibot etc.. Who wants Ferra Torr, Jacqui, Kung Jin instead of those badass characters? ''We have to do something new'' oo really, Is that the point, you have to do something new in a wrong way? Allright then.. If you have to do something new, do it dude, but why you have to eliminate other characters. I see no reason to eliminate any of their badass characters for a new game.. I have a lot of respect to NRS but sometimes i couldn't understands their logic. If those characters were created by capcom, they will use them for every single street fighter title. No doubt here..

Some of the disbelief to this leak reminds me of when people thought the DLC leak for FighterZ was fake because it included Base Goku and Vegeta.

Though i completely understand the disappointment.

But with all of that being said, I still wouldn't mind, if Jacqui made it into the game, but only under one condition: Jax has to go and never come back. Let Jacqui take over the mantle of Jax for good. Go all in with her having Jax' enhanced arms to replace his function as a character. Maybe even kill Jax off to give Jacqui proper motivation and more of a reason to fight. A big loss is always a very driving factor of a character (Spider-Man, Batman, John Wick).

And then... there is also the thingy with the diversity. In this day and age of media diversity is a big thing. And rightfully so, because inclusion is important. And Jacqui checks off a lot of things at the same time on the diversity list: She is an African-American, a woman and a female soldier (specialist). So you can kinda more or less use her to check off a couple of "mandatory" slots at once and leave room open for aaactually interesting characters, no matter their skin color, sexual orientation or religion.

One thing to keep in mind is that they create hype for these characters by leaving them out from time to time. The reason many people don't get too excited for the likes of Sonya, Johnny or Kano is that they are in every game. I'd bet a lot of the characters people are heavily requesting wouldn't be as highly demanded if they were in MKX and every game prior. Scarcity creates demand, that's actually a clever strategy on their part.

However, it's a stupid thing to do if they don't cash in on it at some point. After leaving some favorites out in MKX, NOW is the time to bring them back. If Rain, Noob or whoever isn't in the game, that's just dissapointing for no good reason.

I think the key word here is cashing. Since MK9 they've never really had to worry about the game's initial sales figures.

DLC on the other hand, is where focus lies. People will get the game regardless, but not everybody is as stoked for DLC. So, take the actual fan favourites, leave them out initially, then sell them as DLC. That's how you lure them in.

You'll see, it's gonna be 4-5 super requested characters, and one that's slightly "meh" so it'll be easier to sell the pack, rather than sell each one individually.
