Sticked.

Also, might want to edit it so that it's clear that MB/EX is the same thing in our games.
but mb is a delayed ex special move. dont worry though. this will be edited and also everything will be explained perfectly!
im just waiting to get infos about the mechanics and everything.
for instance we dont even know yet if there will be a run button!

or even a block button ;D

Not really, since MKX, EX its a move which is enhanced as the move is executed, MB its a move which can be enhanced after the move is executed.

Clear Examples
Kung Lao Ex Teleport move, cannot be meterburned.
Kung Lao Enhanced Throw after ex Teleport cannot be Ex'd it has to be meterburned.

Scorpion EX Spear and Helish Spear are two different moves.
Ex Spear its a enhanced Spear which you have to ex as one executes the move.

Hellish Spear is an Ex Spear added effect which you can Meterburn after Ex Spear hits.

i never understood why they changed the name of the buttons smh
aka d2: down+HIGH PUNCH ;D

Classic MK and MK9 are two different things, and there is two different notations for that
In Classic MK you really had High and low punches and kicks.

In MK9, you really have front and back punches and kicks, basically its a game which normals are based on position

If you do any move with FP the character will execute a command with his front limb first, if you do with BP the character will do with his back limb first same goes for kicks.

it was a joke? I figured not many people were aware of this so i bothered explaining with a video before, so when your question popped up again i though about that video.
Sorry if you already knew.
i guess most people do not know it so good that you have posted the video.

MB isn't delayed by definition -- it can be, but it just means your burning a bar of meter for the move. Like MB roll, etc.

When people mean to delay it and there's a timing option, they usually say Delayed Meter-Burn or Delayed MB/Delay MB. Or they just put it afterward like "Move Name (MB)".

But there's no option to meter-burn a roll late, etc. or to roll without MB. It just means it takes the bar.

Also 'EX' is a street fighter term and it's more common for us to use EN, which is short for 'enhanced'.

i have been a lifelong fan of mk but this is the first one I’m going to take seriously and put in a crazy amount of research. I even started playing mkx again just to get better at blocking. I’ll be coming here periodically to get tips and stuff. Thanks again.

Enhanced was for MK
And MB was for Injustice.
In both games the way you used ehanced moves was different.
In MK9 you had to press the block button as the move is being executed exactly at the exact same time.
When Injustice 1 came out, they gave you the option to use a bar of meter while or after you execute a certain move, which is what was called MB.

from MKX onwards both systems were in the game that is why some prefer to keep them as separate because its not executed the exact same way.

There are only certain moves or strings where you can MB later -- other MB options like MB roll only have one option, which is to start the move with the MB. The fact that you can't roll and MB it late makes no difference towards calling it MB roll, etc. So the term has been used to apply to both types of moves.

It'd be nice if we could standardize things for MK11 and clean up a bit of the inconcistencies.

I mean, as long there's an explanation at the top of what the terms mean when reading a guide, does it matter?

If it's like @nugava mentions, then it's easy to understand.

"EX: You have to press the block button as the same time you input the move.
MB: You can press it after the move."
this is correct. lets wait until we have more infos. maybe there is no mb in mk11 lul

I am sorry, but I am on Eddy Wang's side there and not Crimson's.
EX and MB make the notation very clear.

EX: You have to press the block button as the same time you input the move.
MB: You can press it after the move.
Again, if that's the case, we would not call MB Roll "MB Roll"

You guys can ignore it all you want, but this is ambiguous and has been so for quite some time. I don't see the value in pretending this didn't happen.

I'm not really on a "side", and I don't particularly care either way -- but this is just how it was, and it's all over the place in people's posts, combos and guides.
