PS4 down for server maintenance as well.

Definitely not a netcode fix though. "Good lag-based netcode" does not exist. It's either rollback or shit.... but this game is addictive soooooooo. ..

If you don't build your team around TG you're in for a rough time. His neutral sucks, but once he's in IMO his pressure is better than adult gohan. And he hits like a train.
What's my pressure flow with him? My impression was that due to his Light -> Light leaving him airborne their was a bit of a limit of how long I could stall blockstrings for assists before I had to go into "lightning legs" or whatever the name of his version of that move is.

you can do

5LLL > j.236L > Assist > J.236M 2L > 5L > 5M > 2M > 2H > j.236L > TK.236M

IAD > j.H > Assist > j.236M > j.L/2L (50/ 50 mix) / IAD > j.H > j.236H

2M > 5M > 236L/M > Assist > more stuff

236M , call Assist, pressure/DR

2M > 5M > 2H > j.236H (+on block), mixup or DR
- this is VERY strong in the corner


all of this shit is gapless by the way.

and he can do 6K damage for one bar midscreen to corner carry


his level 1 allows for some interesting (and very damaging) DHCs depending on who you build around him.

Tbh I’ve been mostly labbing, looking for a new team, but I just can’t leave Nappa alone for some reason, it’s actually pretty infuriating but whatever...

Turns out, Yamcha supports Nappa really, really well. Started labbing him after summit and god damn, he nearly gives Nappa (with Vegeta) a midscreen sparkless tod. It’s like 95% for 7 bars. Also Yamcha’s apparently the mixiest cuck in dbfz... it’s nice to play a char with a plus button....

So for now it’s Nappa, Yamcha, Vegeta. EdgeWHAT?!?

Definitely also hoping base Vegeta complements Nappa...

I've gone back to using a SSB vegeta SSJ vegeta shell, and swapping Barcuck and Trunks for mid. No one else really interests me. Maybe sometimes using Vegito anchor instead of SSJ Vegeta

What’s your gameplan with ssb? Really want to make him work at some point....

It’s a shame Trunks optimals are so hard in lag.... otherwise I would’ve definitely committed more time to him... still keeping him in the pocket for future loadouts tho. He’s extremely versatile.

I try to get them to the corner. You can cover up tech with trunks assist and/or air command grab to condition a lock down. Then you can do your rekka shenanigans. Same reason I use Bardock in that particular position. I feel like SSB vegeta's neutral is underrated. His Ki blasts are awesome, and his movement is decent. He doesn't have the longest limbs but as a point, you're using assists to cover you anyway. Score a hit, and use SSJ vegeta for a low juggle, you're looking at high 5K low 6K damage, depending on what your finisher is. I like to burn a bar and use 214H to keep them cornered, but I'll spend two bars to kill with his Niagara pummel into super / DHC

Has the online been fixed? Played the boss battle and OH MY SWEET GURKENS that shit was soooo bad playing with randoms w/ cuz they all have shitty connections. And if you don't accept any of them, you will dead ass be waiting at least 20mins for decent connections. Its so un-fun, i just got into BBTag.

And i dont get how the same company run both games and one have complete FLAWLESS, EVEN WITH 0 BAR (FACTS) connection and the other one complete trash. I just dont get it....

really depends who you play. I find that casuals tends to be better than ranked, overall.

I play mostly casuals and hardly ever ranked. Even then, the connection gets really bad still.

DBFZ has been getting stale. This game needs ALOT of changes. Still no mechanical changes like the devs promised. Just very minor bug fixes some nerfs/buffs here n there that are very small as well. But we need MAJOR changes! It would be awesome if the reflect mechanic worked as a pushblock mechanic that pushes the opponent back full screen would be worth using.

I still enjoy it. The only thing that really irks me is free super dash online, either because I can't punish it, or because I can't 2H on time and I'm forced to do it preemptively on a read

Superdash online is a major bitch because of the delay. I think that mechanic needs to be adjusted as well.

Tfw you react to SD too early because you misjudged their starting altitude.... happens to me more than it should I’m sure.

Real talk though, I don’t think SD is that annoying nowadays. It’s easy to punish anywhere over midscreen or if telegraphed in blockstrings. I say let it rock. Only nerf and that I can see an argument for is to make it un-dashcancellable on block. Personally think that might be too much, but I can understand others feeling that way....

The offense in this game is hardcore, I just think reflect and guard cancel need small (measured) but appropriate buffs. Perfect defence should be scarier to attack.

Could reflect earn invulnerability/armour frames against follow-ups? Or would that be op? Any anime defence mechanic afficionados have thoughts?

Not sure about guard cancel...

Speaking about it, it'd hype, if they could cancel SD into any move, even supers and specials to make it a true mindgame.

I wanted to try cancelling this just before the hit into vanish or any other move to fool my opponents, just like in DB series.

About SD, it would be cool, if they could make it more readable, like enlarging a bit the first frames of SD's aura or something like that.

another reason why I main blue. call and assist and if I read an uptech into super dash (epecially after a soft knockdown) i'm grabbing you out of the air and putting your face back into the ground.
 
Welp, the worst kept secret that Yamcha is dirty appears to be out.

Not an anime fighter buff but i will compare the most recent, BBTag and DBFZ. BBTag has a crush cancel mechanic where a single meter is used to cancel an opponents combo like a combo breaker from your partner.

DBFZ is very offensive, which im fine with. But fuck...I wish there were more EFFECTIVE defensive options. Or just better online connection so i can fucking REACT to SD right in front of me AT LEAST!

Yeah there’s literally no excusing the online for a game this big and profitable this long after launch.

Tbh I’m getting more good connections now, but the bad ones are present enough to be detrimentally noticeable.

BBTAG gameplay is similar to Skullgirls, but with the core mechanism of the BB series, IMO.
