The fact that they had DBFZ last in the lineup shows that this game is taking over SFV's spot. And holy shit, that Top 8 proved how much it is to watch over SF!

With that said and done, the Union thingy has concluded, and of course mine didn't win shit....Freiza. I have FINALLY decided to part ways with him. I had hope after the buffs he received but they still aren't shit. Until then Goku Black has just been a favorite of mine, Gotenks is too fun as fuck to let go, theeeeeen bringing back Vegeta.

NEW TEAM

Goku Black, Gotenks, Vegeta

Until the new characters are out this Thurs of course ;)

Don't know what the hell the "idjits" means but I digress.

It sucks that with even the nerfs Vegeta received he's still WAAAAAY better than Frieza. I couldn't just make him work anymore. Him on my team just made me not wanna play the game. Yup...that bad

it's slang pronounciation for "idiots" as in the idiots out there that thought Vegeta was RIP.

Have you checked out Foxy's Frieza? dude makes him work

I sure have. And even learned some things. But Frieza even got some dirt that even he can't execute cuz its not worth the resources and conditions you have to use to execute his HIGHER damage combos. Its too much. And he doesn't even use him at point.

I actually miss Frieza, found him insanely well rounded.

I’m rocking Nappa (yep, still) > KBuu (damn he’s beautiful) > Vegeta (still hella good, just no free assist block pressure)

KBuu actually fits wonderfully alongside Nappa. I’m slowly getting used to some of Nappa’s janky 5H conversions using Buu assist too. There’s some new stuff in the Nappa thread for anyone interested.

Best part (better than Vegeta assist was) for saiba is that the same timing works midscreen for both block and hit. Which is good, because it can’t be easily hit-confirmed before summonning Buu assist.

The 2 of them together make Nappa a fucking powerhouse if you can land a clean hit.

Re CB GF.... hella yea, that shit was next level. I hope this rivalry keeps going back and forth (or others also ascend to their level), it’s nice to see SF have to work for what he deserves.

Does Nappa need any specific assists to work, or is he good with whatever? I'm pretty interested in him he seems like a lot of fun

He’s undebatably (fact!) one of the most assist dependent characters in the game. That said, he has options.

I broke down how I feel about it a few pages back (I was a little salty at the time, so be pragmatic), but I’ll try and summarise:

I think KBuu is a must (damn, right!?) as he allows saiba-summon+continuation anywhere on screen on hit or block. Which Vegeta no longer does (Vegeta covered saiba is now punishable by SD on block)

The third is flexible, but has guidelines. Do you want more pressure or more damage?

Damage > Vegeta assist is the only one to allow conversion from lvl1 (but Buu does provide excellent albeit expensive dhc dami)

Pressure > beam/Yamcha. Allegedly (someone mentioned yesterday) Yamcha allows legit saiba-pressure, but I recall my testing allowing for summon but no follow-up. You’d have to test.

I’m a Vegeta fanboy, and a damage-whore, sooooooo.....

Obviously any team CAN do work, but if you’re gonna play Nappa, I think your gameplan should really optimise saibamen strats, else why (besides fandom / he’s interesting) would you?

That said he’s actually got good (but slow) moves, just terrible solo damage.

Ikr, I’ve been trying setups for a while now. Determined to find a reason to use him properly... iirc he does work with Bardock, but Bardock likes spending meter too...

It's all so very confusing.
The union ended? Is that why I logged on to 500k monies for reasons I don't understand?

Anyway.

Kid Buu makes this game for me. So. Goddamn. Fun. To. Play. Also. Stupid. Strong.

But I'm kinda in limbo right now with the rest of my team. I have characters I'm passably good with - Black, SSVegeta and 21. My Goku has gotten decent, and if I'm running Kid/Black/SSGoku, I'm sitting on double beam monkey stomp. Very high tier team.. but im just not all that excited to play anyone but Kid.

Very very hype for Vegito tomorrow and really hoping he's as fun as he looks and I can put something together with him and Kid.
