Insane top 8, and even crazier Grand Finals.
ChrisG had played SonicFox earlier in the tournament yesterday, and sent him to losers in convincing fashion. Beating the favored SF 2-0 with seemingly no issue.
SonicFox battled his way back from losers and made it to Grand Finals for the run back.
SonicFox studied the tapes and learned from his mistakes. And it showed. He took out ChrisG in Grand Final 6-0!
As he stated in a post game interview, he essentially saw that ChrisG was using level 1 sparking to save his character, and that he was raw tagging to also save his character and to recover blue life. Fox realized this and simply kept baiting both. A raw tag is easily punished especially if you’re ready for it, and Sonic absolutely was ready for it. In any competitive arena, losing is the best learning experience. It’s those who take advantage of their losses that truly adapt and improve as players.
Some other notable top NRS players made top 16, such as Beyond Toxin and Theo. Theo even making it to top 8 in winners with his impressive Tien!
Such a great tournament and it was great to see SO MANY different FGC communities coming together to play the amazing game known as Dragon Ball FighterZ!!!
Final Results:
-1st: SonicFox
-2nd: ChrisG
-3rd: XCaliburBladez
-4th: Dekillsage
-5th: Theo
-5th: Fame96
-7th: Nakkiel
-7th: NecroUndine
