The Dark Perambulator is done, but i need to polish it up a bit. Maybe i'll post a piece of it in a few days. It was supposed to be short - no longer than 5000 words, but it ended up being close to 16000.

This is a pretty cool thread. With recent events, things have dramatically changed in my life, and I find writing to be a way to express my thoughts in a way that I can reflect upon them. I am by no means a professional writer, but I sure do appreciate it :)

Loool this is something I'm sure most can relate to. I'm sure not a single writer on the planet hits quota even 50% of the time. Getting carried away is as certain as gravity.

I write all the time.. mostly finction. I've been published a few times back in the 90s for non-function "computer tutorial books" on how to use a 3D application called 3ds Max.

Wildly unique, not like much I've ever read before. I really like the idea in general. I like the vagueness you added to the abilities of Deyman, too much bluntness would have dampened the mystery surrounding him. In parts though, I felt like there was a little bit too much vagueness, and the mystery might actually be enhanced with a bit of specificity. For instance,

"A swirling, impenetrable haze descended upon the ruins of our city, transforming it into something even more egregious."

Not even sure if Deyman was the cause to this, it was very enigmatic, but almost too much. I hadn't a clue what happened there, I could only speculate.

Beyond that, I like your tone and setting. You did a good job conveying how the environment would feel and I genuinely believe that most who read this will imagine themselves sitting upright in bed listening to the storyteller as the two lads in the narrative were. There are a few instances where your word choice may have seemed like it could have been slightly altered to further enhance the tone. All in all, enjoyable read. Kudos.

Hey, Hellblazer. I'm interested. Not sure if my work is good enough. Currently revising some of my larger works. But here are two short stories that are each about 2000 words long. I have several in the 5000-15000 word range. I also completed a 80000+ word novel. Trying to shape that up. Joined a writers group to help me with my work too. Anyway, here are those two stories. My goal was less than 2000 words for each. This is what I came up with.

I'll leave them up for a week or so. They are hardly perfect. I might go back and address some things, but, right now, I'd like to get my novel in better shape. Comments and criticism, no matter how harsh, are always welcome.

I just started working on a book! I use to write poetry all the time but now I want to see if I have what it takes to write a novel. I have the opening and a good idea on how it'll write out but some things are fuzzy so for now ill just write and then detail.

I've had so many ideas for so many books, but being the INTP that I am, I always shoot myself down. My mother always chastizes me for it because she went into my laptop without me knowing and read some of my stuff and said that she loved some of it, though some stuff she said was "f*cking weird" lol.

My novel has some sexy time stuff goin on in it. Trying to fix it up. Lot of cringe worthy stuff needs to be cleaned up. Actually, in one part i have a woman shape shift into a monster so it can fuck the shit out of a bear-like animal, rip it apart, then eat it. I think that's one way around beastiality. I dont want people thinkin i'm a weirdo or something, lol.

If you're going to write about sex, I think you just gotta go all in, that's what sex is so that's how I'd write it. If you want women to like your books you'll have to put in detail. Women love little things so I'd try to think like them.

My book doesn't fit sex in honestly. It's more about a person living with a mental disease like schizo. Yea just my 2 cents, don't be scared cuz that's how it gets cringy i think
