It's all so very confusing.
Ya know... To hell with it. I'm not picking up a secondary. I'm just gonna stick to Beetle and some Swampy and if I feel like I need my palate cleansed I'll just play whoever for a session or something.

That said I do want to play some Hellboy because he's new and I reserve the right to.play new releases. Lol.

Gonna try to get on in a bit.

Had to take care of the cats and shit. Be back on about 10-1015. Need some games. Haven't played in three days. Haven't played Beetle (not counting practice mode) in four.

Pick up & kill it & kill it & kill it!
I agree, I really do, YOU ARE RIGHT, but I know how my mind works and if I pigeonhole myself into one single character.. I dunno, it just doesn't work. I get frustrated and I feel like.. hemmed in? I know that sounds dumb, but its why I've always struggled to find and stick to one character. I want to give myself two characters - Swamp doesn't really count, hes just for when I want to be stupid.. Like poking after -13.. cough - so I can move around some between them if I feel frustrated or just need a small break from failing to flight cancel and screaming at my cats lol.

And you're right, I dont need to try and win. I just need to try hard enough to interest the person Im playing. The way I learn is by focusing on one aspect at a time, heavily, to the detriment of most others. I stick with that aspect a while and move on, and as I do the little pieces sort of fold in to my game and become more natural. The downside to this is that when I'm focusing on, say, AAing and converting off it or something, I'm not clashing or using interactables, or playing other aspects of the game, and that can kinda frustrate and piss off your opponent, unless they are there under the express understanding that I'm up to something specific.
Yeah sorry that I'm super late on this response. But yeah you've got nothing to lose just playing online against stronger people. A lot of people get upset when they lose when they really shouldn't. Nothing is on the line. If you're playing in an event, then by ALL MEANS play to win, but ALSO play to improve. Use each opportunity as a learning experience. When you lose in an event, ask the player who beat you for feedback & maybe some casuals if you can catch up with them after the event is over. We're still learning too. I myself am still learning even though I may write helpful guides & post something that I feel is useful. So never feel bad about that.

I quoted you in reply lol, but I posted to give some advice for some other people here learning too. I'll be down at my pops's until Monday morning. So I'll be down to play some between now & then. I'll make a post letting people know when I'm on.

Are you gonna expand to PC? I don't have the game yet, but i will definitly buy it for Christmas. Would like to find people from the PC community too, since we're not gonna be a lot probably.

I'll definitely expand to PC. If you find anyone playing the PC version please direct them to this thread so we can try and build a list for PC players. It will probably be even more important for them because that will likely be the minority platform, even more so than Xbox.

i never realized how helpful the AI can be once you turn it up to the highest difficulty. i know it's a completely different experience compared to fighting a real opponent. but i think my defense just went up after grinding single fights with AI. it taught me how to respect my negative frames, to stop spamming d1+blood nado, and to know my character(atrocitus) in general.

Awesome! It’s great seeing people become more aware of frame data and how it can be a game-changer.

It can also hurt in certain ways. The computer does things a human opponent would never do.

For example, the AI always jumps out of my tic throws, including Bane's d2xxbane bomb, which only one human I have ever faced has jumped out of, once.

Nevermind the christmas, I'm gonna buy it now.
I'm gonna main Supergirl 99% sure, sorceress catched my eye too so i probably will play with her too.

Agreed. It's probably more beneficial to have an idea of what you want to test and just program the training dummy to do that. I will say that, to date, no other AIs I've encountered have ever been and inhuman and/or cheaty as the UMvC3 and DOA5 AIs though the latter got patched post-launch to be less cheaty.

The super high level ai in SFv survival mode, at least around s1, don't know if they've changed it. It was pretty cheaty.

I'll get a pc section up before work today.**

Edit: PC section, not pic section. God help us if we had a pic section.
