I think it's mainly because we are accustomed to them. Like I said in my comment above, it's so early (only like 2 weeks since the game has been officially out) and this is the first major tournament. I feel that these players just want to play characters they are more comfortable with, vs. trying to use brand new characters that people are still trying to figure out.

With that being said, I'm sure a few legacy characters will end up being OP. I don't think it's because they are legacy, it's just that almost 50% of the roster is legacy and one of those is bound to be OP. LOL.

My personal thoughts (because why not?):

Firstly, I'm surprised that Supergirl, Black Canary, and Doctor Fate aren't being played. I figured that we would see at least one of those in Top 16 considering how popular they seem, but I guess not.

Secondly, I'm kinda disappointed about who's playing who. Obviously I really wanted to see Sonic play Captain Cold, and it kinda sucks seeing him go straight into picking up Deadshot and Black Adam (who both currently -- obviously it's still very early -- seem kinda OP or at least very strong). But I also wanted to see Pig's Doctor Fate and/or Darkseid. I mean I heard he was going to start playing Atrocitus but he seemed very excited about those other characters and I just wanted to see what he would do with them.

BUT! It's to be expected. It's very early so obviously a lot of players are going to choose either legacy characters or characters that were in the beta. I'm sure we will see stuff for characters like Captain Cold, Doctor Fate, etc, in the future when people have had more time to play and learn those characters.

Really though, I'm just tired of seeing so much Aquaman/Superman/Black Adam. I'm fine with legacy/beta characters, but I really just can't get excited for more gameplay of Top Injustice 1 characters.

Ah, okay. Well anyway, feel free to use it!

But I just want to say that it may not be 100% accurate. Compbros mentioned something about actually playing Canary? I don't know if he's going to use her in tournament or what. Then something about Dragon using Aquaman also, but I don't think he's playing him in Top 16. We'll see?

EDIT: Confirmed, Compbros is playing Canary.

Pig switched to Fate in the third match of his final set.

But truthfully I was completely unprepared for GL MU, should have started w fate and continued w him in the set. Atrocitus didn't feel solid vs GL and fate felt better but unprepared

It was obvious to me as a viewer that it was a MU issue rather than a skill problem, bud. By the end of the match Fate was looking more confident, and you almost had a nice comeback there!

Missed all of this, and will miss top 16. Anybody know if Hayatei's matches were streamed/ recorded? I'm dying to check out his Robin.

If i'm not mistaken from all the matches i saw on stream ( i missed some so i could be wrong) Swamp Thing was the only character i did not see getting picked in any matches. :)

I'm super far from being a Forever King fan, but his Batman is art. I hope he wins.

And I'm sorry for Reo and Pig, I really wanted to see them in top16.

I'd say a little bit of both.

I don't know much about Superman and Aquaman, but even though I can safely say that Black Adam's damage could use more scaling, I don't feel like he's good enough to steal the scene this heavily. Superman and Aquaman are probably the same.

Deadshot, on the other hand, is absurdly easy to play and do well with and that's why I feel is that used.

I expected more Batman though.
