FL Rushdown
Champion
I think akuma beats guile. Only problem I've noticed in the matchup is that flash kick is a great answer to demon flip shenanigans. But in neutral I don't ever feel at a disadvantage he's got multiple ways around booms(ex demon flip, tatsu, parry through them up close) and I find guile has a hard time anti airing akuma cleanly even ex flash kick can trade with v trigger air fireballs and regular flash kick seems to always trade with air fireball. Another nice bonus in the matchup is that akuma doesn't really mind playing the fireball game with guile because he's got meterless 3 hit projectiles. Ask @B. Shazzy Though he probably plays it at a higher level.Hey Rushdown - how does Akuma do against Guile, Fang, Dhalsim, and Rashid? I am considering picking Akuma up as a secondary - was getting hype watching Snakeyes and Tokido at E-League - but don't want to spend the time if he has the same bad matchups as Birdie, as it'll be redundant. Those 4 characters are the only ones I would personally consider switching against as Birdie.
Fang I've played the matchup like once so I'm not qualified to discuss it but I can't imagine akuma having too much of an issue. Only problem might be that his low hp helps fang out a lot since low dmg is his main weakness. I'd still say akuma should win though in theory.
Dhalsim isn't that much of an issue. Sim usually does good vs shotos and I feel like a good sim can still do work but Akumas got a decent answer to every tool sim has so it's pretty even imo. Having throw loops in the corner is nice vs sim and I like Akumas buttons for punishing limbs, v skill + k into CA is also a godlike full screen punish on sim limbs too so yeah.
Rashid seems to be even, with whoever gets going first winning. Might give a slight edge to rashid just because he's got reliable answers to pretty much every air option akuma has if he's got bar and he can shut down any akuma fireball gameplan. That being said akuma still has great tools in the matchup and he's got a good long range 3 framer to stop shenanigans and an easy way to stop eagle spike shenanigans with v skill.
Imo Akumas only weakness is his hp in most matchups. As far as his tools go he's incredibly well rounded with one of the least flowcharty offenses around. You can run into some trouble vs really strong neutral characters like cammy and chun because he likes to play from a range inside of the danger zone vs them but he can still play a defensive shoto game vs them better than ryu can nowadays so you've just gotta adapt.
Tldr I think akuma goes even in most matchups and the only ones he doesn't are because of the hp disparity he has with characters like Rog. Toolwise he's got what he needs to get the job done vs everyone but he's gotta be played clean, which is sometimes easier said than done in online sfv.
