A crosscut you walk under and use the fwd motion from going under to do a dp by inputting f, hcb+p. A n auto correct you just input the dp motion regular and press the button right as they cross over your centerline.

Cross cut DP if they jump from right over to your left would be input as :r:qtr:d:qtl + MP
Auto correct would be :r:d:qtr + MP

Of course you have to time it really well so the last input happens right as they go over your head. Cross cut DP timing seems pretty lenient. The other shortcuts work too, like :qtr:d:qtl:l and :qtr:qtl:qtr

@FL Rushdown might correct me on some of that but I'm pretty sure that all works.

Ah ok thanks guys. So if I'm understanding correct you can do a regular DP but time it so that you finish and press the button a little late, as in when they're in the other side?

I believe that's how the game is interpreting the auto correct DP situation. There is a small buffer on the special move input that will let you push a button X amount of frames after the last directional input and still get the special. It all happens so fast in an actual game that you probably won't think about it like that. Best thing to do is take it into practice mode and see how it works.

Cross cut is the way to go, imo. Auto-correct seems like it happens more accidentally.

Also, Ryu's ex DP has a massive hitbox that extends all the way behind him. Pretty much eliminates any ambiguous cross-up situations.

I keep watching The Beast's videos on Guile thinking I'll see Shazzy and get bummed out when I don't see his name :/

Welcome to Akihabara
And in the new patch no net code fixes.
I have a fiber optic wired connection and i suffer because of scum bags playing on wifi causing lag spikes. Mkx can get it right there is no reason for capcom to fuck up. All good to call out rage quiters but why is it every time i hand out an ass whooping as soon as my oponent gets stunned the connection goes to shit. Why should the rollback go the the player whos conection is good??? All this netcode does is reward fucktardary.

June 2 cant come fast enough.......

My connection was created from 5th dimension crystals that exist in our 4 dimensions, but also 2 more of time and thought. It creates a speed so fast that I don't even play games because I already played. :p

na just watched a vid by vesper arcade with comparisons between the pc and ps4 and no difference.

Yeah i cant wait until tekken that is my jam.. there will be a bit of rust but i love it.

A game where movement is more important then dashing in and pressing buttons. Thinking before you move. Wiff buttons in tekken and its your ass lol ggs.

Anyway back to it sfv will have to do for now. I just feel the balance is worse in season 2 and the next patch didnt fix much.

I assume you mean rude awakening if he were sticking around SFV? Is the beta online shit? I havent been following.

I just watched a Gief dismantle a Sim.. Now, the Sim was Mistah Crimson, Gief was Brick. I feel like Gief's are figuring this MU out. Im sure its still obnoxious, but after he gets his parry, Sim is going to be shitting himself. Gief just bullied with constant dashes, constant jabs and lariat. Sim kept him out, but there just isnt enough damage to cut through Gief's health, especially when jab checks can stop Sim's normals and Lariat is a winning trade every time. Hell, one lariat out of three normals was keeping the health even.

Lol why? I mean I pretty much suck anyways so I'd figure maybe he's fun to play?
I was partially kidding, but if you find him fun, go for it. Tier placement doesnt mean anything below a certain level any way unless you play a specific person on a regular basis who's mostly the same skill as you (tier placement tends to show when vsing equally skilled players over somewhat longer sets, even at lower levels). I just played him a lot before they cut his balls off, so to me, he's not fun. He feels slow and ineffectual and clunky compared to what he did before. If you're new to him though and dont have that BG comparison, he's gonna be fine.

quick question is resetting the netural and when u get a knockdown a good thing instead of going for a meaty ?

because of the risk of a button or escape option
Well when you have the advantage then you see how much resources they have (can they exSpecial, etc.) and keep applying pressure. Yea there's risks but they also risk if you read they're wakeup etc. Besides you have plus frames/advantage, you should try to get as much damage as you can.,

It seems that by moving to the new servers, Capcom hopes that CFN has less of a load on the overall online. From what I have been hearing, nothing was changed about the netcode and people are still experiencing one sided rollback.

For the short range option Sim will have the new cancellable low (I do not know the frame data on this low or whether it will be better than b.mk), longer ranges Sim will be mostly using the mediums again. I dont really see much change. The Gief discord has been working hard as hell to come up with options for all of the matchups especially the harder ones.

because of the risk of a button or escape option

This game is almost entirely about getting the advantage and keeping it. If you read they are going to try an escape option then adjust your pressure to account for that - most characters have different options for different situations - If you think they are going to hit a button, then make sure your meatys are on point and you will blow them to pieces. If you think they are going to DP or something then make sure to block and if you think they will back rise, have something for that.

So, one of the most important things, and one of the reasons Im bad at this game, is having all these options on deck. Most characters have ways of covering multiple options and timings. It also depends on what you got the advantage with.. if you knocked them down, well, all knockdowns are not the same. Different moves have different spacings and some moves dont allow the opponent to quick rise, or in some cases dont allow the opponent to slow rise or back rise. Take Ibuki's light punch Raida (the move that looks like a grab) it ONLY allows the opponent to quick rise, so if I end a string with it and get a knockdown I KNOW they cant slow rise or back rise. So MUST quick rise, so I just have to decide if I think they'll wake up buttons or wakeup DP or wakeup block. Usually you just meaty in this situation, and a meaty isnt, or shouldnt, be defined, by just a single button that hits them on the first active frame. Meatys, proper ones, are strings that, ideally, leave you at advantage when they are over, be that advantage position, frames or both. Im shitty at this game because in V you have to have these long sequences memorized and planned ahead and I dont play like that. I just like playing in the moment, reactionary, and thats just not how this game is played.
