Street Fighter V General Discussion

Life is a block string with no gaps.
So I'm finally getting SFV.

I have a couple questions about two characters that I'm looking into using.

Dhalsim: He's always been one of my favorites. He'll most likely be my main throughout SFV. From what I can tell, he seems to be very strong in this game. I'd like to know everyones else's opinion is on him and how he performs now in season 2.

M. Bison: I've always liked his character design. But I was never any good at using him. I heard he sucked ass in season 1, but got a lot of buffs in season 2. Is he worth picking up now? How bad was he pre-patch?
Dhalsim is stronger this season. He requires strong patience, confidence, and good decision making under pressure.

M. Bison is very footsie based but being charge centric can be a deterrent. Also he's still very slow in the movement department relying on dashes and jumps. He did get some very meaningful buffs. Namely a 3 frame normal.

Play whomever you like, but if you could play anyone I would recommend Necalli or Urien as I did to Eldriken above.

Should also mention that Bison has frame traps up the wazoo and his pressure is pretty good in S2, he got some good love.

That sounds very interesting! I'll definitely look into that when I get my hands on sfv.

Thanks for the reply. Dhalsim has always been one of my favorite sf characters. I'll try him out in sfv and see if i like his playstyle. I'll also check those other characters you've mentioned. Again, thanks.

Dude if Sim is one of your favorites, he's literally never been cooler. Get on that.

Dude I know! His character design was the main thing that attracted me to him way back in the day. Now he looks even more badass! He's definitely gonna be the character i study the most when I get sfv. I just gotta see how well I gel with him.

Go to bafaels channel (should still be good) and watch x.y.y.z.y or whatever his name is.

Last I checked on full jump in it was cr.hp into heavy chain.

And off a medium it's st.mp headbutt. Not the most combo heavy of champs. More footsie and setup based.
Which is exactly why I picked him, tho his V-Trigger combos look super fucking sick

@CrazyFingers check out MenaRD's sick-af NEC performance with Birdie too. P sure he was doing st.hk into st.mp into headbutt off of full jump ins in the corner. One of the hypest tournaments so far IMO thanks to all that Birdie badassery.

That's cuz he wasn't top tier in the last game. How things sure do change.

ALRIGHT! Frame data. How do I find it for my fat chain wielding brit?
I'd just Google or use FA tools. I'm not sure if it's updated yet for s2 tho as my phone busted. If not you can look at patch notes and FA tools (an app for phones) and apply mentally until updated.

NaCl man

Welcome to Akihabara
its quicker if I just name who he definitely beats lul

Gief Fang Birdie and probably Vega but I've never played a good Vega in my life so

Basically play anyone especially Balrog, Urien or Dhalsim
Urien vs anybody right now is the way to go. Unless you like cammy.
