Street Fighter V General Discussion

Diego de Souza Costa

***The Soul Consuming Darkness***
He throws fireballs and dps. And don't bank on kara in sfv.
just bc a char has a fireball and a dp, doesn't mean that he's a "shoto", shoto is the "discipline", all shotos use the same clothes, and they have the same moves, sagat is a muay thai fighter, he's a fullscreen, fireball zoning char, something that this game definitely needs....

If you thought I believed that Sagat was a shoto in terms of lore.. idk what to say.

No, he functions similar to a traditional shoto mechanically.

Keep your pants on, Sagat fans. Keep calm and tiger, tiger, tiger.

Can we just put Oro in the game? He's probably the most unique and fun character I've played in a Street Fighter game.

he definitely looks cool. AND he shows up in the story mode right? or someone's arcade mode or something so like they HAVE a voice actor...maybe there's hope for Oro. I'd try him out even though I have no clue how he played xD

They talk about him alot in the story. Karin and Dhalsim are searching for him.

In SF3, he had a DP, a double jump, a fireball and a command grab. His ex fireball had homing, kind of like sektor. He also had a stomp move that he could use in juggles. His Super Art usually invoved his teleknetic abilities as he would summon rocks from the surrounding area and repeatedly use them to hit the opponent, causing long combos or block strings. His other Super Arts involved giant fireballs or super command grabs.

more opinions the better tbh. go on.
F.A.N.G. Is a character based on good buttons and odd specials to control space plus a D.O.T. to whittle away at his opponent. He's got a great anti-air in cr.HP. He's got some pressure but it's iffy and if you try him out you'll see what I mean.

You have to be on point to play him. There's isn't big reward plays unless you CC. He doesn't get much off of stray hits. And he has no true reversal. But he does have a dodge v-reversal, which allows some punishes and corner switches.

His pressure is a bit iffy because of his framedata and the way his buttons work. You'll see what I mean if you play him. I think there's a range of ways to play him. I like to play him like he has two modes. I'm still figuring out my plan with the character but I find him interesting and I think he's a character you're going to see evolve as SFV changes.

I think his v reversal is kinda bad personally. Its slow. He does have nice anti air normals tho.

It's not as good as having a hitting one but it switching sides and allowing some punishes shouldn't be overlooked. I personally need to try and use it more. I tend to save up trigger and use that to keep up in damage or even close out matches.

I just think that, of the side switchers that don't also hit (nash, rashid) his feels slower/covers less distance.

" I dont think Guile is bad but I dont think he's toptier either. Like the top characters in this game is so obvious - the characters that you don't really need to... put much thought into. Characters who have very big damage with very little thought." -Nuckledu

so necalli, ryu, cammy, ken etc we all know the baby characters so no Guile toptier talk in my thread thanks lul

Checked the FAT app and they don't have any data on the movement v-reversals. I guess we could find out how much they differ with the jump test.

It's all so very confusing.
Yeah Oro would be amazing in V and he's a GREAT opportunity for the designers as Capcom to go batshit. I mean, he's supposed to be Akuma level badass .. so much so he fights with his dominant arm restricted so he actually feels like he has a challenge.

Given the really interesting stuff he could do in 3s he could be an amazing character in V
