Hotfix can always change everything.
EXoverhead slash is nice, yeah. But against good players, very few get caught by it. It's pretty slow sadly. It's one of those complementary buffs that he should have had long time ago.Balanced has a semi 50/50 use s4 staggers. You can do a 4d4 or 4xxdb4b or b4, b32.
Not bad.
Kenjutsu is also worse then he was before. He has no + frames (ex push is -13) but what hurt him more is that he lost the ability to armor launch on anything, blade nando and tele suspense. So no armoring throu gaps for any decent reward whats even more depressing you can get punish hard for even trying lol.So Balanced is still shiet? What about Kenju and Possessed?
I doNobody is getting hit by Ex OH Slash. It's so slow
Yeah I agree 100% about Kenjutsu, when I read the notes I decided to try first, but he's just a pile of lacking.Kenjutsu is also worse then he was before. There is like 0 sense to play Kenjutsu now.
As for Possessed i have no opinion yet played mostly Balanced and Kenjutsu yesterday.
Joking right? Have you tested him? This is what I've been waiting a year and a half for.
Balance has been restored.
Literally.
No more excuses, boys.
This is like... wrong on so many levels. This is what I've been waiting a year and a half for.
Balance has been restored.

Teleflurry has the same recovery, by the way. Ex Slash is a complementary buff that he should have been given ages ago, and also you are only catching with it people with bad reflexes, waste of bar most of the time, considering you are a punching bag that needs to use expush to be any kind of "threat".Having played him vs Dink yesterday, I don't feel he's as bad as before the patch. Teleflurry and Push/Ex push are great for keeping people out as their recovery is much better. Also Ex Push on block allows a quick followup or another push.
As for AAing without ex RK, I was having great success with D2. And every now and then depending on their spacing was hitting regular RK into combo.
Ex Overhead Slash, while it sounded great... I think is kind of useless so far as no one gets hit by hit and you waste a bar. Gonna have to find ways to mix it in to string or such unpredictably or something.
I think balanced will be great against characters that have to get in via run/dash/jump. (Had great success vs alien last night with help from the new stamina nerfs) Highly mobile characters will still give him a problem and those are likely to be the top tier so tournament Kenshi still gonna be improbable. But vs mid tier and less mobile he should be great.
Just my initial thoughts as I planned on picking him up.
Teleflurry felt faster, but I hadn't played kenshi in a loooong time.Teleflurry has the same recovery, by the way. Ex Slash is a complementary buff that he should have been given ages ago, and also you are only catching with it people with bad reflexes, waste of bar most of the time, considering you are a punching bag that needs to use expush to be any kind of "threat".
Regular rising karma is still too slow for antiair unless it's on a semi read, if they are already in the air there is no time, THAT was the role of exrisking karma. d2 for antiair...we are saved.
This variation was built around meter management and taking smart armor risks (punishable) and good antiair. That is gone. Now remaining is a char with same bad close up game, same -43 tf, and pretty much same slow overhead slash.
Balanced has definitely become worse. Waiting for hotfix.
Just summarizing, sorry if I repeated lol.Teleflurry felt faster, but I hadn't played kenshi in a loooong time.
I literally said ex slash was pointless lol... not sure why you're responding saying it's bad.
You have to make a read to AA? oh no... MKX has this stupid mindset of everything being easy. If it's too late to RK then that's what d2 is for. I haven't tried it yet, but since the hurtboxes now activate just before the hitboxes on the jump attacks... AA could be standing normal into RK.
Was just sharing what I saw with him last night, on day 1.
I still don't think he's worse. Just different b/c you can't use ex RK.
I think the first few weeks was a lot more clear that Kenshi was garbage than now. I feel like the new pushes are fairly good and the stamina nerfs are huge in matchups vs characters that have to run/dash/jump their way in.Just summarizing, sorry if I repeated lol.
If you played first months of Mkx version of Kenshi, then he's better, yes. That was abysmal, like double digits negative teleflurry on block and stuff like that. We are comparing with xl patch Kenshi.
Yeah, people are saying give it time. People said the same to pig first weeks of the game when he saw he was already trash. No need to wait to see the obvious, but it's good to be optimistic.
I would LOVE that all the players that now start to think he's worse were wrong, but I have the feeling it's not the case.
What are the strings you use for this? Like I said, I'm trying to pick him up and this is an area I'm not doing so well in right now. I'm using F21, but Idk what to mix that up with.He still has his staggers which is always nice.
11, 1, F21, 421, 42. The last 2 are more gimmicks but I like to toss them in there anywaysWhat are the strings you use for this? Like I said, I'm trying to pick him up and this is an area I'm not doing so well in right now. I'm using F21, but Idk what to mix that up with.
Also, glad I'm not the only one that thinks he's better now. lol
What the fuck is this downplaying? We literally got some incredible buffs that make his mid screen game incredibly strong. The only thing that was lost was ex rising karma no longer having armor and that is compensated by being -1 which means you have a safe way to end block strings that you are not fully confident in hit confirming without meter. He still has his staggers which is always nice. The universal nerf to stamina helps him greatly. I don't see the problem here. All you options open up at mid range, that is where kenshi gets all his mind games, all his advantage, where all his tools have excellent use, etc. Not to mention our meter building is still amazing. Is he top 10? Probably not, but to say he is worse than pre-patch is downplaying of the highest caliber. It is like you are going out of your way to try and convince yourself the character is trash while completely ignoring what the character does well.
We have some pretty damn good meter building so we can use exrk occasionally. Hell we can use telepush max range without worry of getting punished, hell we have a lot of options mid screen, and with rushdown getting nerfed, now is a better time than ever to play blanced since he is an ideal defensive wall right nowEnding strings in exrk is a waste of meter. Now we have to save meter for our precious push to get out of pressure and take a juicy 14% lol
Time will tell, hope you guys feel that optimistic about this castrated version of Balanced in a couple of months.
