MKXL Balance Patch Confirmed (UPDATED)

I have a feeling they didn't touch any of my characters and this feeling is backed up by pretty strong evidence but, still, exciting news! At this point in the game with another title in the works and an additional platform being playable in MKX, this could make for an interesting balance patch. I wonder how much thought was put into this patch considering all of the above. Does NRS want MKX to go out with a bang and dramatically shift the Meta to bring new life to the game? Or do they consider themselves accomplished with their work and simply touched upon a few characters?

TYM, I better not see this thread turn into another opportunity to attack a moderator. Although Youph could stand to reign in his pessimism a little, we should be grateful MKX is still getting support whereas the past two games wouldn't have at this point in their lifespans.

I'm just hoping, as are the rest of you, that these incoming changes will bring the whole roster to a level playing field, or as close to it as possible.

I'm confused by your post. How is mocking or not mocking a moderator related to the level of gratefulness one shows toward NRS for providing a patch? These seem completely unrelated.

I imagine as big a deal as this patch has been focused on, they are looking at everybody in some fashion.

They may do a hot fix here and there in the future, but this is probably the last big patch (unless KP3 comes along). We shall see.

Okay there is 2 perceptions of of this patch being great or a fail

1.The people who want to stupid shit nerfed as a priority

2. Buff this the shit stuff as a piority

Piority wise I be on 1 side as it gives the game much more longevity in enjoyment but im really hoping they cover both as best as they can since it is a "Balance" patch

Alright this is actually a surprise to me, I was extremely certain there wouldn't be a new patch. Now that the confirmation is here my mind is going wild with "Paulo please buff Raiden and Cyber Sub I'll pay in cash"
 
It's about damn time! I mean, everyone at this point suspected the patch to come out on/around the same time as the PC MKXL patch, so there's no real surprise there. It's just nice to finally have it confirmed by the man himself.

High Tech doesn't need buffs, does it? It already has big damage, a shit ton of jailing pressure, I don't understand.
It also has crippling weaknesses. It's not on the same level as Kenshi, but it's definitely at risk of being left behind if it's left untouched.

A simple reflect or poke buff would be enough. Or buff the range/speed of df2. If you want you can nerf her level two damage to compensate.

And don't forget the shotgun damage nerf (8-10% off all corner combos) and bf2 safety nerf (make it -12) and full auto low rocket nerf (-5 from -1) I also think the character needs.

The poke sounds reasonable, but I don't think High Tech needs much. She's one of those polarizing characters that could get really nuts if pushed in the wrong way.

I agree. It's just to the point in some matchups were she can't poke, she can't whiff punish pokes, her mids get low profiled so she can't enforce plus frames and she has no way to make the opponent approach her.

Takeda for example, his blocking hitbox means that after blocking any of her strings into df2, or f12, s4 and d1 will whiff. Not to mention the massive challenge that is getting in on Takeda with his range and her lack of range anyways. A reflect buff and a d4 buff would fix these glaring issues without really breaking her.
