  • Fix the Female Hit Box Issue for him and ALL Characters

  • Give him a Universal Mid Screen Quicker Low Starter which hit Confirms into Ice Ball

  • Fix Phasing through the Clone

  • Give him Faster Pokes

  • Give him more Chip Damage Options

  • Something Else

For Grandmaster... rather than make disjointed limbs/weapons collide with Clone, just let Clone stay on block.
Hello, just a friendly neighborhood reminder that MKX is not a single player game and we, the other humans who, even if it doesn't show on your screen, actually try to control the other model, would also like to actually play the game.

If that's not too much to ask.

Grandmaster at least has offence and defence players can work with. This is because of the presence of the clone. The other variations essentially struggle because there isn't a tool like the clone available. This means that Cryomancer and Unbreakable are forced to use his meh normals.

To help sub zero as a whole I think he could use improvements to some of his strings. Grandmaster specifically would simply need fixes to the clone so his combos/setups become more consistent.

Cryomancer and Unbreakable need help so bad. It really gets me triggered when people come in and say that Unbreakable is fine. Like oh "I went in ranked with Unbreakable and beat xXMLG 420 Blaze ItXx so he isn't THAT bad. Cryomancer is just super mediocre. He would be a potentially good character in a game that didn't have safe 50/50s.

Seems a bit dramatic. I get it, it annoys the shit out of certain players.

I'm up for a discussion. Assuming you play a character that has a tough time against Clone already, does this make it worse? Because what I picture it doing is keeping it from being utterly nulled out by characters that already go right through it. Not makin it harder on others.

I have respect for Sub Zero players, even if it's a cuck that I body in my sleep like @zoofs.

They walk around with a 9 frame poke, a handful of 3-7s. They know what pain is. Sometimes their combos just don't work, due to several variables.

But bros we gotta compromise. I'm not trying to see Reo's changes in full effect. How is Tarkatan supposed to fight Sub Zero if all of his limbs have a hitbox? The MU would maybe be worse for Tarkatan than it is for Sub Zero now. Can't we make peace? Can't we combine our scrapbooks and agendas, to make a Utopian MKX society, where tails don't kill klones and klones don't kill Aliens. Where we rest easy knowing that the winner is the better player, and is not subject to a horrible match up? Where no combos are dropped because "lol dat hitbox bro"?

Praise Lord Brady. Praise the Alien agenda.

This is a reason I advocate Clone staying on block. Alien doesn't get frozen from half screen away, she still goes right through the Clone. But it stays unless the move connected, so it's not just automatically null.

Having it go away when blocking MB specials might make more sense if possible because many are advancing. If you blow the meter to get through and are blocked, landing on the Clone might be overkill.

Still prefer Cryo/UB changes.

It's not like Tarkatan doesn't have other options, in a corner situation many characters have to spend a bar (armor) to be in a better position vs GM, Alien's got plenty.
That aside, like it should be for everyone: you might want to pick a different variation/character for the MU's that are problematic, Acidic can use his spray to get rid of the clone. What's Smoke gonna do in the corner? Nothing, just character select, not complaining.
For what it's worth I highly doubt we'll see hurtboxes on weapons or even Aliens tail, but imo in this instance it's a logical change, if you're gonna wanna do safe gapless meterless mixup rekkas you might deserve a 7-3 MU vs a character designed to keep you out, which I think is how Tarkatan is meant to be played against.

Anyway, neutral opinion, I don't really care either way but it bugged me since the first time seeing Alien's B3 just hit through the clone and even launch him. Then it turns out all his strings go through the clone.. and in the air! Many characters have to work to get around the clone its like .. one of those decisions.

This is a reason I advocate Clone staying on block. Alien doesn't get frozen from half screen away, she still goes right through the Clone. But it stays unless the move connected, so it's not just automatically null.

As good as Madzin's GM is, Brady's use of the clone is the best. Madzin has more success in GM's bad matchups because his game doesn't revolve around the clone as much, but watching Brady play GM - I can understand why he relies on the clone so much. He's just so good with it. Its like he never makes a mistake, but sometimes the clone lets him down. Both players are super-creative, but the difference in their success comes down to the clone's failures rather than a difference in skill level. Anyone who has watched Brady knows he should have won a few majors by now. The problem is the unreliability of the clone in some matchups.

What does Madzin v Brady have to do with Sub fixes?

They both play sub and are both ridiculously skilled and creative, but Brady's skill with the clone holds him back because the clone isn't reliable - but he's so good with it that he has to use it. His entire game revolves around it.

What's the issue?
I could go into detail but I'll save it:
The way it's designed is not meant for it to stay on block.
It generally serves multiple good uses as is, IMO a tool that denies neutral play/sets up safe mixups is not a tool that should be improved even further because the MUs will change drastically in SZ's favor.

Any string if blocked would freeze, eliminating the only option for some variations.
It's like asking for Ermac to Soul Release after Soul Ball on block, hmkay. That just sounds ridiculous considering how stupid it already is. No offense.

(Also I hope this didn't stem from Hunter's Snag not going away on block, and if so, the character, the tools, the setups are all different).

What do you mean by the clone staying on block? Sorry I'm new to subzero.
