Street Fighter V General Discussion

That's the thing. What I described there is SFV footsies and F.A.N.G gets destroyed by SFV footsies because it's unreactable 'stuff' happening that leads to you getting vortexed and killed on knockdown. You lose fights not knowing how you lost.

Yeah. ShXX is frustrating man. like, "oh I threw out a normal but you jumped. I'm dead." Even if you recover in time to block the jump, you are still F'ed unless you are playing a character with an invincible reversal AND you're not playing against someone that's plus on every attack they have. This leads to certain characters not being able to play footsies because they can't even risk throwing out normals.

Like I said, I wouldn't be opposed to having crouch teching again.

On wakeup, it sounds like you want a guaranteed way to be able to get up and reset to neutral every time. That's just not how this game is unless you wakeup DP and then V cancel it to make it safe. just like Ultra really... with wakeup DP into FADC.

F.A.N.G is an honest footsie character in such a dishonest fighting game. Just waiting till August now:

Uh. Sfv is super duper honest. Every sweep is punishable(spacing can matter). The overheads rarely combo. There's very limited option select shenanigans, and most characters rely on fundamental concepts to be played well.

On paper everyone can anti-air in this game but it doesn't feel like that in fights a lot of the time. It's because of this '8f of lag'; by the time you recognise Ryu or R.Mika are even in the air it's already too late to stuff their jump LKs

Uh. Sfv is super duper honest. Every sweep is punishable(spacing can matter). The overheads rarely combo. There's very limited option select shenanigans, and most characters rely on fundamental concepts to be played well.

Footsies are a big part of the fundamentals, SF has always had awesome mechanics, very little luck involved. As for AA I honestly see it all the time, from me doing it to my family and friends to tournaments. I'm taking about fangs crouching heavy punch.

I think hes talking about shit like Necallis 40 different crush counters like roundhouse also being his best footsie tools that will basically eat your buttons alive because of the normal priority system while also being extremely difficult to whiff punish on reaction thanks to input lag

come on qwark you know that 2.2 more frames than sfiv's input lag is really why you can't antiair like 60 frame jump ins or react to throws go ahead and say it too

It's not luck it is lack of consequences. Crush counter, dash, jump; alternate between the 3 and eventually one will work giving you a hit on F.A.N.G and it is over. What footsies? What fundamentals?

50 seconds in and Xian has blocked a jump-in. It's because there is 8f of lag

All that space and timing that xian keeps momochi out including his longer reaching normals are footsies. About the lag I really don't know how much it affects each player but for someone like Zanfief they've said it plays a much bigger deal, I honestly agree Zangief is the one character that's in need of changes.

Street fighter 4 had 8 frames too when ps3 was the tournament standard, then the community switched to 360 version because it had 5. Then when ps4 version came out it also had 8, people complained, capcom patched it down to 5 again. This has happened twice already, stop acting like 3 frames never makes a difference

Also if you're having trouble using Anti airs then you need practice.

It's bad enough having to guess everytime you get touched with F.A.N.G. You shouldn't have to be guessing in neutral as well because the game doesn't let you react and it's been done 100% on purpose.

The aim was for the game to be more offensive, less passive, less turtley etc etc. The perfect way to do that is by stripping you of all defensive options and making sure you can't react or defend yourself even if you want to
