Am I reading this correctly? After the second F43 you do Far Air Bomb then release a ground bomb?

Ah that makes sense. I'm attempting to learn all 4 of these variations and not just Sektor. Though so far CSZ, Smoke and Cyrax feel like more trouble than they're worth.

i liked how you told me that certain moves were hit confirmable and liked the new setups you showed me, thanks for the Kotal and Predator matchup experience, and it was very fun using Cyrax vs Cyrax. invite me anytime;) i can always learn something from you..

You know I used to think I was a pretty decent Cyrax player until these last like 5 videos on here. I literally can't replicate anything, idk how the hell you guys run back the opposite way and then start a combo in the opposite direction, none of these double bombs work for me. Lol I give up, I'm going to play Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

keep practicing them, there are some i can't do after trying for a long time, due to timing issues, and then later on ill come back and get it the first try.

New Corner Double Bomb (Credit to ScarsUnseen for the mid bomb idea):

Also if you didn't know, Cyrax's teleport has a bug where if you hit the Opponent with the Ex Port, the recovery increases dramatically (the only way to fix it is to do an EX Port that doesn't hit the opponent):

Also to those struggling with these setups, Practice makes perfect, Cyrax is character that rewards creativity, ingenuity, and extensive knowledge of the Borg himself. Cyrax at the higher levels is an execution heavy character that demands constant refinement and practice. If you can't do certain things now, that is perfectly fine, just keep grinding.

I was lucky enough to refine my execution with A-List Johnny before Triborg was released. I was only able to do F3 RC 113 nut punch when i started Johnny, and now after MONTHS i can finally pull off things like this:

So please do not be discouraged by the more difficult things Cyrax can do. I promise you that the result justifies the work.

And practice I shall. There's never been a combo I haven't been able to replicate, those run back under ones though are just completely new to me. Also, that double bomb wouldn't break armor on ex wake up, I just realized the video was set to tech roll then wake up haha. Thanks for support though! I just need to stick with my setups for now.

If I may. As one who is set on proficiently using all 4 variations of the character. How viable do you find Cyrax in high level play?

I go to this thread almost every day and love the new ideas you guys come up with. I would like to play more Cyrax's as I almost never see them online. Please feel free to add me on PS4, Type-R-Legend. Looking forward to playing with some of you.

i fucking knew that it buggs out, i just didn't know what was causing it.

by the way it also happens on normal teleports, i have a few meterbuilding combos that have teleport in mid combo, and some times the recovery tripples randomly, i don't know what causes this, but thanks for the info on the EX version, know i know that is one way to make the bug consistently initiate.

according to many top players he is bottom tier, he is viable like every character on the game, but less viable than most of the cast, he struggles more than 90% of the roster in many matchups.
i will always play Cyrax, because he is fun to play, setup characters is where its at, but noone can deny that most of his normals wiff, and have connecting issues, as well as his armor problems and Teleport buggs.
if i had to choose a character to win a tournament it would not be Cyrax. as of now
Cyrax need help:
i would be down with him getting
  • Net back in combo, (as long as they make some other way to keep the reset gone, like Net on let go drops them to a knockdown position or something along those lines.)
  • Teleport launching
  • F21 being eaqsier to hit confirm since there is only 1 frame between 2 and 1
  • B2 being faster on startup, 35 frames is way to much, its not like he is getting 58% (one bar) in corner with it like Mileena does.
  • and his damage needs to be higher after using metered moves, this damage scale was dumb, and how does it scale off of almost every normal he has?
all this would do is make him more fun, and cool to play as he should be.

Let me ask this, would you place CSZ on the same level as Cyrax currently ? Or Smoke for that matter? As it stands, I see Sektor players more than any of the other 3 so I can only assume he would be the only "viable" variation.

no i would not place CSZ and Cyrax on the same level, CSZ has his problems that hinder him, but in the ways he is hindered Cyrax struggles with very basic things like opening up a character while csz has many viable tools to open up, in short they are both very bad, but still can be used by high level players. as for casuals, they are ruined. which is sad because the top players only hold 8% of the community. millions suffer while a small few benefit from the last patch.

all of them are barely viable, but Cyrax and Cyber sub can not win a tournament by them self's as of now, u need pocket characters for all those bad matchups.

i would agree that Sektor is the best out of the 3.

How do you guys do your Cyrax combos online when there's just the slightest bit of lag? I'm debating switching to simpler combos because of this.
