Street Fighter V General Discussion

SonicFoxs F.A.N.G is looking good but that character still sucks. The requirement to win with this character is for you to just play so much better than your opponent which I find ridiculous. Who ever makes the most correct reads should win and that is the case for everyone in this game except F.A.N.G
Zangief is way worse than F.A.N.G

I don't think being outfootsied is really that big of a deal in this game. "Tough neutral" lol you obviously have not experienced Killer Frost in Injustice

Both characters are manure. Which one smells worse I don't know but they both stink

So happy to see someone actually discuss Mika. So tired of seeing the whole "she doesn't play SF stuff" when it's known she has trouble actually getting a hit. And what seems like she the only person with resets or a corner game. Sure she has one of the nastiest V-triggers but she doesn't run a train on the game of SF.
Shes probably the funnest character in the game to play imo because she wins with crazy reads and has a positive attitude.

And dat feeling when you perfect someone in 15 seconds

This isn't itsjustass its SFV.

SFV is extremely footsies based and not very many characters have guaranteed setups and resets. If you're losing its because you're being outplayed or you're in a bad matchup,
not because you guessed wrong.

Yea I've heard mixed things on Mika, in your opinion where does she rank?
I would say she's at least B tier. Most likely A but not with A+ or S. Whatever we end up calling the top tiers. She's one of those characters right under the upper echelon. She's good, has weaknesses but those weaknesses don't really harm but just a way to make her design reasonable.
It's well-known she has a bad neutral game but the thing is that once she gets in it's pretty much GGs! She does good damage, she can hit confirm, she can decide which sides to keep you in with her command grabs, her CC is + on block, unescapable resets against some characters, nasty ass corner game, the best V-trigger in the game which is a get in for free tool as well as a pressure tool... If she had a good neutral game she would be top 5/3 for sure.
I think she is very good actually but not top 5 because she lacks a reversal and her weak neutral can be tough to use against someone with a good neutral.
Unless you've been in some crazy set I always tell people to just block first against mika. Only worry about the command grabs once she actually starts risking it. Grab is 180 damage and away or 150 damage and close. But there is major risk in it. I've even seen it in a few tournaments where the person was better off just sitting still. But of course don't disregard it and pay attention to corner spacing to.

I haven't given it much thought but I'm not too sure if I'd give her best V-trigger. Top tier definitely but idk about number 1.

But yeah once she's in you can 100-0 someone quick AF. Just that getting to that point ain't free as what some people seemed to think month 1. The thing I like about your description of her good points is capcom made her like some sort of akuma grappler experiment. Akuma's excuse for how good he is was always he dies so easily so he needs some way to even the odds. Before Mika actually touches you her game is so ass so Capcom gave her ways to even the odds. Her CC is plus cause it doesn't have a use anywhere besides during resets/wakeup/some AAs. Her V-trigger is so good while her neutral is below average and her V-skill is easily countered. She's got that extreme design capcom loves so much. Just in grappler form.

Don't bother with myles.

She is really fun. I really like the grappler challenge she has with getting in and having to space and time her cr.HP and st.HK. She's the character for me. Perfect fit.

Hmmm blocking first always is not an answer since it's a guess at the end of the day, a good Mika player can either do hits all the match or go for command grabs every single time, there's no way to know it.
Her V-trigger is the second best for sure because of all the stuff she gets from it, she can even use it to cover her main weaknesses. I forgot about Necalli's on my last post.

Didn't say it was always the answer. Just that first few mixups to block first since that's the safer option. As for V-trigger I haven't learned all the characters like that so I can't really comment on it.

We should play sometime.
I use Nash.
I'm down to play against more Nash players. I feel it is one of Mika's harder MUs. CFN CM_Buyacushun

Everyone says this but I don't feel it in this game. If guaranteed setups and resets weren't that prevalent and you don't lose because you guessed wrong then having a reversal wouldn't be such a big deal and everyone I see that doesn't have a reversal wouldn't die the second they get knocked down

You thought it was a grab but it wasn't could = round over. You try and anti-air but they altered their jump arc is game over. It is madness

Does anyone know if they streamed SFV Top 16 yet at Northwest Majors. I checked the archives for TeamKhaos, but nothing there. Is it on a different channel?

Man I wish I had a ps4, I've been wanting to play so bad. I've been learning a lot from watching other players lately.

The reason they're not guaranteed is because most good characters have options against it.
Its not Capcom's fault that you're losing. its your fault for not picking a better character as at least a side main.
