Kenjutsu feels far more like kenshi than teleporting, demon summoning kenshi

To you. I was actually referring to his space control, it feels like I'm playing Kenshi when I'm possessed. I don't disagree actually, if you read my post.

I finally got around to playing MK9 and wow, lol.
If we can get that 3/4th screen ex shoulder back and TF had the whiff recovery it had back then.. Balanced would be sex.

Yeah but the thing is normally you had to end round with a throw, now its available all the time.

Since the last patch Kenshi's throw brutality can be get with no more requirements than holding down while doing the throw, which is cool!

I've been messing around with Kenjutsu a little. Balanced is admittedly low mid tier at best and Possessed just isn't my style.

I'm about to watch Pig's video guide on Kenjutsu, is there anything I should know that has been changed in updates, since he made the guides?

Edit: I already know that it's much easier to use B1 in combos.

His D4 becomes super godlike in Kenjutsu. I believe it jails into F2 and B3 on hit. Once they're conditioned you can run up throw.

Balanced is not low mid, it's a bottom 5 variation. I'm glad you're enjoying Kenjutsu, personally I'm not a fan of it since it's more unsafe than Possessed and more or less rewards the same for a bar.

I don't know. I don't want to keep arguing with the Kenshi community about Balanced, but i'd take it over Inferno, Unbreakable, Ancestral, High Tech, Pyromancer, Dragon Naginata, any Bo Rai Cho(that may just be my ignorance to Bo, though), and Hat Trick Lao.

with kenjutsu, you get rewarded for both overhead and low though.

Balanced is crap tier, accept the truth xD

B1 is much better now, specially for kenjutsu. You can end your combos in b1 and it jails a b3 ( or a 4 in the corner).

For example, this simple combo b32~exlift jp2 b1 allows you to jail b3. I think Sonic discovered this. When they start respecting the b3, you can try a f2, but b1 on hit does not jail into it. Or a throw.

Balanced can also do this b1 thing after 22mb, but there is no mixup besides b3 and throw.

I almost feel bad picking up Crystalline Tremor after a solid year of kenshi. I'm gonna keep playing him though, possessed will still have its uses in some MUs. Also that B1 tech is rather interesting...

Even if you can do a 50/50 off of B1 after EX DB4, wouldn't it just be better to cash out with 43 ender? You're losing like 10% every time, right? Maybe I just have no balls.

Why does Kenjutsu's sword look like something i'd see at Toys R Us? As good as the variation might be, this has to at least lower him by a tier.

They made b2 safe in last patch I think, but it has few utility.

You are leaving damage on the table ending combos with B1, but you are buying a mixup.

Yeah but in the case of like Ermac or Smoke, when you reset someone with the correct combo, you're leaving very little damage on the table by not cashing out. With Kenjutsu you're missing out on what seems to be like 9-11 percent. You basically get nothing if you go for a throw.

I like Kenjutsu's neutral and I don't have those kind of balls, so i'll probably always cash out.

He blows up War God on paper but due to the difference in buttons, it's probably 5-5, or War God even wins.

But yeah other than Sub idk lol. Probably the non-Full Auto Jacqui variations.

Sub I agree with, why War God though? Or rather why is it tough?

I disagree with Shotgun losing to Balanced, and High Tech is probably even imo.

With a bar of meter you can kind of autopilot vs War God and blow up anything he can do. B12 or B122 staggers get full combo'd by standing 2, EX rising karma blows up any gaps. With the new B1 buff, it easily punishes all swords on block, even B122 overhead sword.

Despite that I think the difference in buttons still makes it even, or even gives War God the edge. I didn't mean to bring it up as like one of Balanced's more favorable match ups, I just figured i'd give my insight since I main War God.

Bartitsu Bo Rai Cho (not sure about the other two variations). Currently he gets mopped by Balanced. If he gets in, he can play his game, but in this matchup Balanced has a real opportunity of not letting him get close a single time. Basically this matchup feels like playing mk9 Kenshi. This guy needs a better run, seriously.

Jason used to be free, but not anymore since his recent buffs. It has become another bad matchup for Balanced, sadly.
Gm Sub Zero is actually only like a 5.5-4.5 in Balanced favor. Cryo is like a 5-5, and unbreakable...I don't know good ones to judge.
I feel pretty comfortable vs Thunder god Raiden also, but I don't know if it's just me, I would not dare to give numbers in this case.
Ironically, Balanced works pretty well vs the other two variations of Kenshi too.

I don't think Balanced has more good matchups.
