Question - Kenshi Who is worse than Kenshi?

Generalbit

The blade of osh-tekk is stale.
I don't think the character is better than bottom 11. Which puts him in the bottom 3rd of the game and by definition, low tier. This is by no means a death sentence and many characters that are very competitive are in this bottom 3rd of the game. Kenshi is a solid character without all the dirt that propels the better characters. Also, being the "worst" in a game like MKXL means next to nothing as even the worst character in the game is competitive at this point.

On a side note reading through this thread, why do people assume that because a variation isn't used as often like brood mom or high tech it's bad? High tech is nasty and brood mom has advantages. Also, do people not know about displacer? Maybe I'm crazy but a lot of these variations are used as examples of terrible characters, and I just want to know if it's out of ignorance or just general willful inability to change a stubborn opinion.

Zoning/keep away playstyle has been made to be weak in this game, so it's only normal for Balanced to be weak.

What if I told you that keep away and zoning is a thing in MKX, although I do agree that rushdown is superior.
Lol you're retarded, ofc there is zoning in this game, it's just weak, very weak compared to rush down.

Nice attempt at sounding clever though.

No. You don't have to jump to get beat by kitana. Neutral duck? Get thrown or run up and hit by a string. Even if you block the string, staffers. Ex fans are positive and the second is a mid. And if kitana touches you she hits like a truck and personally I wasn't even thinking of royal storm or assassin. I think mournful is the best
Mournful? Gurl bye. Assassin is clearly the best.

Possessed has safe 50/50's, decent zoning, pretty good but gimmicky pressure with the teleport, and good damage for 1 bar. It's viable.

Kenjutsu has "safeish" 50/50's if everything is cancelled into tele-push, also has decent zoning, and gets good damage off of armored reversals. Also viable.

Balanced....sucks but still has its uses in certain matchups.

Am I crazy for believing Kenshi isn't as "garbage" tier as a lot of people say? He's by no means top tier or probably even upper mid tier, but I mean...he's not bad at all. Right?

What is annoying about Balanced is that the potential is all there. He could be a decent zoner and complement the other two variations. But some absurd decisions about the frames of his specials (teleflurry on whiff among other problems) force the Balanced player to pray the whole match and to basically ultraoutplay the opponent.

The Kenshi community needs to level up? Are you kidding me? It's not a lack of good players, it's a lack of a competitive character. The recent patch did little for Kenshi and a lot for most other characters, leaving Kenshi in the dust balance-wise. Pig said it himself, us Kenshi players haven't found any Kenshi tech because there is none. We know how to use balanced, we're not stupid. The reason we complain is because every match is an uphill battle. Balanced is a zoning variation that can't zone. So all he's left with is bad normals and a poor neutral. Like many of us have said before, if you think you can do better with Kenshi, then pick him up and prove us wrong. We'll shut up as soon as it happens, I promise.
You still have it easier than some and you're only getting more given to your character.
I dunno about you guys but I saw Pig at esl finals with a Kenshi, and if it wasn't due to his own dropped combo he could've beaten st9rm and placed further than he did and who knows maybe that would've been it or maybe he would go further.
That was before other buffs too wasn't it? (serious question)

I really think Kenshi players do lack good representation, sorry if you feel like you're all god like players but Pig is the only one still worth talking about and even he has his moments (who doesn't I suppose).
but it shouldn't rely on just him to push the character to the limits other players should but you all just cry that Kenshi can't zone with balanced for the most part, guess what this isn't MK9, MKX changed how you should play Kenshi > Step 1: Drop balanced.
if you only main one variation and proceed to cry about the state of the character that's not the characters fault, You guys really don't sound like you're labbing the other 2 variations all that well, some of you here or there are probably very good and we're yet to see from you but there's alot of people in here who refuse to level up.
You do not have a character with no answers, you have a community with no effort to change their ways, Kenshi is not a zoning monster anymore move on.
He's by far not the best and could still see buffs, but he is not unviable entirely he can still be played it's almost as if you people think a 4-6 MU means you shouldn't play it, it just means it's harder it should fuel that fire inside of you but instead I see a flock of people complaining over what is truely not a terrible character all in all when you think about what you need from his arsenal to win, he may require a secondary to compete with, but he still sits above other characters laughing at them and he sure as hell will probably see more buffs before nerfs so do not act so hard done by.

I train on the regular with a Kenshi main and he's doing well for himself and he will in the future too I know it, I am going to look into him myself and see what I can do because I would love to prove some people wrong that he's not unviable, but You all sit there telling someone else to do it which just shows me how much you guys deserve from a character.

If you see the match carefully you will notice that st9rm had little or no knowledge about the Kenshi matchup (specially Balanced). He didn't duck a single teleflurry if I remember correctly. So this match is a very bad example to defend the supposed viability of Kenshi. In fact, Takeda is a bad matchup for Balanced Kenshi.

I digress, time to sleep i'm not arguing with the worst character forum about.

Well at least you don't have a defeatist attitude unlike most of the other Kenshi players that post here and complain nonstop.
