What is this b1 OS tech. I keep seeing people talk about but I can never find it in the forums
timing a attack so it will only connect if the opponent wakes up and if they dont the normal whiffs.
so you can option select crushing wakeups with b1~roll/exroll,
try putting kung lao on wakeup ex spin and set wakeup to random, do 21u4 , dash up and input 1~ex roll and you'll see what im talking about

theoritically, B1 active frame nerf should make it harder right?
ye i dunno just from playing it seems easier and just wanted to ask to see was i being mad lol

Someone correct me if im wrong. When playing gm sub pre patch, if he had his clone out in front and you tp on reaction to iceball, youd still get caught by the clone
Played a couple matches today when after the tp hit it disappeared

If you hit him it goes away. You might get frozen before but that depends on where he puts the clone

Went in practice a bit, seemed the only time it froze me was when he was in the middle of executing it or crouching inside of it. I dont recall it being that easy to tp on it without getting frozen. Even when he crouch blocks a little behind it, you hit him not the clone

I'm pretty sure that was always the case. I don't ever remember being caught by the clone after it's out. Even if he blocked it went away.

Mileana players I beseech you, what is the gameplan against this character. Specifically against piercing. I've been getting mopped by her since XL launched and I've yet to figure out how to stop her. Any tips would be appreciated.

d4s are your best friend against b12. granted its not like pre patch Jason and there's more to it then that but that's generally the counter to b12. learn the gaps in her strings, and work on your punishes. tbh there aren't many holes in her gameplay you kind of just have to outplay her.

Lol honestly, tonight your biggest problem was you didn't follow rule number one: block low and predict/react to overheads. When I have some time I'll hit you up and we will better run through the MU. I need to take a better look at Smoke myself anyway

I'm really bad at reacting to overheads in general. My reaction times need to get brought up to scale across the board. You're Mil was scary good. Probably the second strongest I've ever fought and both times scary.

How do I play piercing? I want to be good with Mileena but whenever I play her I don't know what to do. I know I can do her low/overhead mixups with her EX Roll and sometimes mix in a F3, but that's about it and it's really meter dependent/unsafe when the opponent blocks it. I've tried using B12 randomly but I don't know what to do with it aside from spamming it and sometimes ending it with a low sai/ex roll.

Im relatively new but the thing I find is you don't have to play unsafe if you don't want to. I mix in b1, b12, d1, f1, f12b4, 123, and throws in my pressure game. All of that is safe, the key thing is baiting reversals. If you really want to do a 50/50 do it off of the last hit of f12b4. Since the low option is safe, you can do that a couple of times to condition them to block low then hit them with an EX roll the next time.

As far as what to do with b12, if it hits you can run cancel into b12 again to jail. If b1 hits another b1 isnt guaranteed but it'll blow up everything but armor(and if you do b12 it might even break armor depending on what it is).

I've found that playing extremely safe works well because people are so used to Mileena's that play crazy that they just wait for her to hang herself. If you don't do that and play it safe they will just keep blocking your pressure which allows her to do a lot of chip and open them up with throws. Again this is limited experience so take with a grain of salt.

Mileena is pretty much a defensive wall. Use sais to keep your opponent at bay and use b12 to maintain space. If they are consistently low profiling it them use f23 because it's a true mid. On knockdown use f12b4 to break there armor. F12b4 is also a good stager string so you can stop it early and start throwing or do 21u4. Only go into roll if you see b12 hit. It's not the easiest thing to confirm but if you recognize that it's going to whiff punish or trip gaurd then you can commit to the roll.

ah you've moved over to mileena? good stuff :)

also when b1 hits another b1 is guaranteed (b1 +12 and 11 frame startup) and that you mentioned 123 dunno if you know but if you crouch 2nd hit of 123 you can armor/backdash just before the 3. just though id mention it cause not widely talked about thing,my bad if you were already aware of it

Yeah I figured out the first thing last night. Didn't know about 123, good to know.

Has anyone made a list of moves that F3 can go over and beat out?

Not sure if this is widely known but b12 is not +17 on hit. It's more, at least +20, since Telekick jails after it. Doesn't matter if youre ducking, midscreen or in the corner.

This thread may be of help. It breaks her down as a whole for anyone learning her or trying to understand how she plays to fight against her. Keep in mind though that some key things like B12 being plus has been changed along with the sai specials, but pretty much everything else is the same. But to note, B12 changed, as did f4, f44, d1, d3, and the general sais:
