No nooo not at all nothing to apolgise for man haha!! It's just from my testing it seems pretty useless so I was just curious as to whether there was a reason you was using it haha :)
Yeah and I haven't had time to test it properly. Thing is many people look at strings like, 'this has bad frames' or 'this has a gap' and then immediately think of it as worthless.
I believe you, but I wanna test myself too.

In certain cases gaps can be worth the risk if they lead to mixups/launch or can be made safe if the gap isn't punished. In Bo's case 2 gaps the entire string punishable at every point if not cancelled with one specific ex move on the third hit, no range, no real mixup aha you can kinda see where i'm going with this. Test away though hopefully you'll find something i'm overlooking aha!!

413u4 is completely useless in my view. It's only worth using the 4 as an anti-air and that's about it. The 4 whiffs standing opponents 90% of the time, not only that but it's incredibly slow in the neutral and it's a high. You can't even consistently use it on a jump in because of the way your opponents head bobbles after the jip.

Agreed. It's why my go to is either 21 or 341 since 413u4 is pretty wonky.
 
I believe this combo (36%) is the most damaging one without using bars in Barjitsu variation. 4 is quite slow so I recommend try this combo with jump in punch as starter during a real match. (That's doesn't mean jump like crazy in a fight)

Is there a starter to replace 431? 4 is the most inconsistent move ever.
As in a launcher? Either 21 or 341. 341 has the low overhead mix up and is easily blocked by an opponent who sees it coming so it's best not to rely on it too much. 21 is his fastest launcher but the 2 is a high and you'll probably be poked out of it unless you're punishing.

I'm finding more and more often I have to use a bar for ex-fart off of a non-launching string to extend combos into decent damage

This! So much! I hate spending meter on ex fart outside of setups but you don't have any choice too often.
