OK.. This thread is getting off track. Let's slow down and rehash what we ALL currently know and agree upon, then building up from that, perhaps we can reach a meeting of the minds.

Point (A) - Quan Chi is a character in MKX.
Point (B) - Quan Chi has things that do stuff.
Point (C) - Other characters have stuff that does things to the things of his that do stuff.
Point (D) - Dafuq.

I think the frustration comes from the point that nothing constructive has come from this.

No new knowledge has been gained. The people who struggle vs Quan don't even explain what characters they play or even ask us for games or advice in the MU.

So I ask, again, what has this thread achieved that the others did not?

There's a poll up the top keeping track of who's "winning". As far as discussion goes, your last 20 posts have all been bad memes and pictures of babies crying and shit. QC players are asking for the thread shut down because they don't like what's being said about their character, while people not drinking the QuanKoolaide aren't asking for shit lol, and even other Quan Chi players have spoken out against these silly buffs. Only a direct denial of reality is the only way I could see anyone genuinely thinking Quan players "won" this thread, but whatever lol, I don't see it as a war anyway, just a discussion, just one being constantly dragged down by people's moronic self-serving agendas, as well as idiotic pictures and memes that everyone just ignored. You personally deliberately trashed this thread by spamming it up as much as you could FROM THE OPENING PAGES ONWARD so don't complain that "it's a mess and should be closed" when you went out of your way to make it the mess it became, so that you could get the thread closed because you don't want the discussion/poll you guys are overwhelmingly losing to happen at all lol.

"He doesn't win tournaments so he isnt broke". Hey reminds me of my main liu kang who never won a thing, had a PSEUDO block infinite, doesn't have half the tools quan has and guess what? Still got nerfed. That rebuttal has little to do with the way players feel about quan chi and his overloaded kit. Casuals bitching about him, pros bitching about him..only his mains think he is ok and talk as if not having a reliable wakeup is a reason for his insane kit. Shit id kill to have them overload liu like that and take away his wakeups. Imo there is nothing that screams skillful about putting someone in constant hard to block vortexes. But it is what it is lol. I just feel like he won't remain like this forever. Just my opinion

It's obviously a heated talking point and very recent change that people are going to continue to talk about... You can't just silence this because you don't see an endgame to it, tthere is no endgame to 99% of what happens on TYM lol and there doesn't need to be, this is an online forum not an NRS committee meeting.

On top of all this, you will be the first people complaining when this thread just gets re-made in a day because you guys closed a thread on a subject that people want to talk about, you know, the entire point of TYM to begin with. If you are done with a subject that's fine, and considering how poorly this thread has gone for your communities image I don't blame you, but as Zoidberg said, that isn't justification for you to ask for your thread closed lol. Cry me a river. QC is a MAJOR factor even if some of the players using him AT THE MOMENT are not, discussing what this patch means for him, is he #1 and whether the defenders of these crazy buffs are just downplaying or not, is important to the metagame.

How are you gonna speak for all the quan mains saying we don't like what you're saying about quan? What everyone is spewing in this thread is nothing we havent heard 162735 tines. We're, me especially, want this thread closed because its the same shit all the damn time and it doesn't end. This thread is going nowhere. Like holy shit yeah he got buffed in this patch its the end of the world. There's been how many patches already in the 5 month slam its been out? A good bit. So everyone just calm the hell down and wait till the next patch cuz he is obviously going to get nerfed. Like damn everyone is complaining about a character that has only won the VERY FIRST major and that's it. What has this character done since then? Made a handful of top 8s. Everyone's talking about his offense being broke. It's very good, yes. But seriously, is it really that broke? Correct me if I'm wrong, but at this point in the game, MKX is at least an 80% offensive game. HQT and tempest lao still have a better offensive game than summoner quan chi does. Who won the last two majors? Forever King with HQT predator. He even used quan chi in the tournament but didn't use him in GFs. Guess why? Cuz HQT is better

I don't & I complained about Quan a ton & then I did the smart thing & played the MU a ton & asked Dink questions. Now I have an advantage since Dink comes to our monthly but damn, people ask questions & learn MUs.

You're creating this false narrative of Quan Chi main censorship that does not exist. One only needs to check a page back and see non-Quan Chi mains asking for the thread to be closed.

I'm fine with the discussion Hands, but it has to actually GO somewhere. Can you honestly find a point that has been made about the character, on either side, that hasn't already been said?

Now, I DID question the point of the thread. Interestingly enough, no one has stepped up to explain to me what this one accomplishes that the others did not, nor have they explained to me any kind of actual content.

As negative as a light you believe this shines on the Quan Chi community I assure you the other side isn't coming out of this one unscathed.

This entire thread has just been two sides reiterating the same talking points ad nauseum, with no actual communication or meaningful dialogue taking place.

Anytime someone tries, they're called a downplayer if they're a Quan Chi player and a scrubby whiner if they're not.

Cajoy wrote a very articulate and concise thread about the character, which was buried under a storm if shouting matches, ad hominems, and trolling from both sides.

So if no actual discourse is taking place between the players, then what are we even doing here? It's not a debate, it certainly can't be called a discussion, because neither side really wants to listen.

Haaaaaaa. I will never not lose my title as Quanfather. My loyal children know dis. I didn't say zoning wasn't a fundamental part of his game, I said he can't rely on that. There's too many ways people can get in in this game. He needs all his tools. Very rarely can you lock someone down full screen for an entire match

Totally out of curiosity, to the guys who think Quan is super broken:

Why do you think that despite having very strong tournament representation, Quan only does averagely well?


I mean, having a YOMI player that plays almost exclusively Quan means that he's been at essentially every major tournament, but arguably, and I mean ZERO offense to him by saying this, Michaelangelo may be the least successful of the main YOMI players. There are also plenty of other Quans in tournament, so it's not like you can say he is under represented.

I mean aside from Evo, I don't remember the last time Quan did anything passed barely breaking top 8 and even that isn't very common. Except for West Coast tournaments but those obviously don't count.


Do you guys think Quan players just need to level up overall?
