How does Relentless fair against Slasher in mirror matches? What about Mileena? Those are two matchups I struggle with as Shinnok.
I pick relentless in mirror matches and do very well. Most Jason slasher do the same thing, block and wait for a F4, 2 combo. You can really mess with them by doing 111 into lake mist. After the 111 they try and start the f4,2. You appear behind them for a great b122 lol. Then they are conditioned to block through and command grabs are wide open. I also love the d1 into choke because we all know jason is slow.

Against mileena I usually go slasher but have great success with relentless as well. Idk what it is but I find mileena to be one of the easier mu in thus game for jason. Block high and punish every ball and teleport kick. Some are smart and make the teleport kick safer with Sai throw but most don't.

I prefer slasher to try and bait rolls and tk with the machete and to easily punish all here unsafe moves with 38% meterless. But in relentless I can get off alot more ex pursuits because of the easy hard knock down potential.

Those two match ups are my favorites in this game because I know jason very well and can easily punish most mileena players.

An 8 frame poke is pretty average. B1 is your main tool and it has pretty good startup. He does have a 50/50. Sure his overhead doesn't launch for a combo, but b1 command grab and finishing the string is a 50/50 in itself. How is he easily punished? Literally everything you should be using is safe lol. And his gameplan is simple, doesn't make it less effective. Do you mean d4's low profiling? That's pretty normal. Just seems he's being played as an in your face pressure character which he really isn't. He dominates half of the screen with a mid hitting launcher that has a built in mixup. Also EX pursuit is pretty damn strong right now. You're getting 3 mixups in the corner off of it.

From my experience, Relentless and Slasher is a fairly even match-up. Also, I think both Relentless and Slasher do fine against Mileena (I'd argue that Slasher probably beats her)

Slow pokes, slow normals, no 50/50, easily punished, predictable, easily low profiled. These are big problems.
1) His pokes aren't great, but if they were, he'd be ridiculous.

2) He has some form of a 50/50 in all three variations

3) I don't see how he's easily punished other than maybe F42 in Slasher. The vast majority of shit you should be abusing when playing Jason is safe. An example of a character I would refer to as "easily punished" is Mileena. Jason is safer than plenty of characters.

4) He''s somewhat simple and predictable, but that isn't necessarily bad in fighting games. I think a lot of people confuse his simplicity for inherent weakness.

5) He's easily low-profiled, but he is far from the only character who has that issue.

6) He has some of the best meterless damage in the entire game (in all three variations), some of the best practical armor (in all three variations), some of the best tick throws (in Relentless and Unstoppable), one of the better projectiles (in Slasher), one of the best D2s (in Slasher), One of the best combinations of neutral jump punches and jump in punches (in Slasher), and arguably, one of the best overall strings in the entire game (B122 in Relentless and Unstoppable). He has issues, but he is no where near as bad as people make him out to be.

I main jason, so trust me he's not horrible. But once you get into high level players Jason's weaknesses are apparent. He is just too slow and predictable with no decent poke game.
With all that said you can really condition your opponent to play your style and still be very effective. Like you said his jump ins and njp are great. F2xx bf3 can make them no want to block low. Machete is a great projectile and tool to counter zone or force a jump in. 122 can also close a gap. His armor is great. He has many tools in slasher but his weaknesses defiantly balance him out.

Relentless is a whole different animal that has yet to be fully explored. If his lake mist was safer this dude could be very scary.

I think another problem people are having is they talk about Jason like slasher and relentless are one character. If they were he'd have more than enough tools to enter the pfp best conversation.

Why isn't Jax's Farm a playable stage?
Wow Jason's combos are tight to pull off online lost a bunch of matches due to dropped combos. Also does anyone find it harder to do the b1 tick throw than the other tick throws?

Yes. I have a harder time doing his b1 tick throw than anything else. I can do d1, d3, d4 and 24 just fine. But that one? Fuck no. It's such a pain.

I don't even bother trying to do the f2 tick throw because it's a high.

Yeah I don't try to do the f2 tick throw. I mostly just use 24 but I want to use b2 more.

True. I fall into that trap myself at times. However, I definitely think each of those two variations is viable. I just really wish NRS would buff Unstoppable.

Normalize grab immunity.
Hi, I have a thread that should be a main place to figure out your next character to main or sub. It needs more info from the different character specialists of the community. The characters are split into 3 categories: Rushdown, Zoning, Footsies/Neutral. Come in and give some insight on how the character should play. I'd really appreciate it if some of the Jason mains could come by and shed some light on the character.

Guys, B12 over F42 as a starter any day. Then, just go into the F42, F42, 111Stab to maximize the damage.

I have problems against Flame Fist Liu Kang for some reason, I have no problem blocking and getting in some punishes but once the flame fists are activated its pretty much GG lol the punch flurry special with flame chip just eats me.

I've always said that's a bad matchup for Jason and whenever I see that character I go straight to Tanya. Do not pass go, do not collect 200. The annoying ability to low profile all of Jason's grabs and better buttons upclose scream "play your backup character"

You are not alone. The match-up in a nutshell : He low-profiles everything, and when he isn't low-profiling you, he's zoning you with fireballs that are too quick on startup for Jason's teleport to be an effective anti-zoning tool.

Hey guys, can you give me some tips on how to handle his reverse controls special move? I don't have Jason so I can't lab him. Can someone just break the special move down?
