Slips did you ignore that I said his damage was nerfed? He does less damage now, and it's from this combo.

214>DB3, 21>DB4, JIP, 4>BF1, JIP, 4>DB3 = 34%
You can do better than that.

214>DB3, 21>DB4, dash, NJP, DB1, JK>TP, 21>BF1, JIP, 21>DB1

I don't know exactly how much that is but it's more than 34%. I'm gonna guess at least 38.

I can teleport more than once in a single combo? -tests-

this thread is a disgrace to all hellfire scorps. LMAO Rip Inferno scorp he's still good stop whining. if anything this leads probably that hellfire scorps are going for Inferno since in this variation his setups are still top.

Just because zoning isn't dominant in this game doesn't mean people don't try it or do it. Inferno Scorp is probably the best anti-zoner in the game. His footsies are meh but he still does good damage, standing reset, and decent vortex. There's definitely nothing wrong with it that's for sure.
I didn't argue those points. I'm asking which tournament viable characters you're going to counterzone and with what efficiency. How do minions compete with teleport when the latter is universaly available across variations?

Care to elborate how his setups are any different from, Hellfire, or Ninjitsu? All variation's end in a vortex. What setups does this variation have?

Well some characters Scorp can't teleport on reaction to their projectile. Typically fast ones where they recover decently. They can feint a projectile and bait the tele and you're done. So then you start guessing and that's no good. But with Inferno he just does low demon whenever and it wins almost all trades so it gives them even more reason to not even bother zoning.

My bad, when I get home I'll figure it out. Can't remember off-hand.
If you can figure out a meterless combo that does more than 36% even with a jump in punch let me know. I'd appreciate it, gotta use whatever I can to make up for the chip damage loss, and the combo damage loss.

And which chars are that? Are they tournament viable? Used a lot?

You'd go inferno over pre-patch hellfire or post-patch ninjutsu against the character cast of yomi for example?

Actually on most of those match ups, Inferno's low demon will just get beat out by the projectile. I'm assuming you are talking about characters like Cybernetic Kano. Even if you block a knife, and try to use low demon, it will just beat you in it's start up frames and disappear. So it really doesn't help much here unless you get lucky.

There's no way I'd pick Inferno over pre-patch Hellfire in almost any mu. Hellfire was far and away the best variation.

Inferno vs. Quan might be an ideal matchup over the other 2 variations. Inferno might be best against Mileena too.

I ultimately don't know yet. Hellfire still might just be a better version of Inferno. The patch came out less than 24 hours ago. All I'm saying is if you used Inferno Scorp before, there is no reason to drop him because he lost 1 or 2% in combo damage (if that's even true) and because he lost a 6% guaranteed chip string off of a jip. That's crazy talk.

I'm not sure if I buy this. Kano might be an exception but most characters can't just throw projectiles at Inferno Scorp because of the double threat of tele and low demon.

I can make a video showing that he can, from any range on screen.

Mileena can trololol roll through any demon on reaction, as can Sub-Zero slide through any demon summon on reaction. Also the 214 string did more than just chip damage, it was a hitconfirmable string that lead into an overhead, a low, a mid demon, however now the only thing I can do from it is 214, DB3F and get the hell out of dodge. I don't know what Inferno offers over the others against Quan Chi, I'd actually assume that Ninjitsu would be the best.

And from what I understand you don't play Inferno, so how would you know how much that string means to Inferno in the first place. The very threat of the aftermath made the opponent's freeze, allowing him to get away with not cancelling 214 at all, and jumping back in while they were still hesitating. Now I can't be safe up close as every other string he has besides B121 and 123 are not safe on block.

What I am hearing in these threads is that every variation for every character must have all tools available to them and they should all be able to be played the same way.

So like ... no variations.

I don't buy this on reaction talk.

There is a big difference between scouting, making a read, and a cold reaction.

I find that people often confuse these

You cannot react to a 28 frame start up move with another move that doesn't have a chance of getting hit by it? It's not like they will be worried about other moves reaching them other than minions. So that's what they will be looking for.

All of his demons are 28 frames?

Also, that's where conditioning comes in. If you have an unpunishable option, or a very difficult to punish option, you can condition with that and open up your other tools.

I could be wrong, as I'm admittedly speculating.

Demons have a very obvious animation on start up, he reaches for the skull on his belt and moves it in the direction of the demon that will come out. Low the combo starter is 28 frames start up and is -27 on block meaning even if you block it you can still roll or slide, or superman, ass attack, Trance etc from far away.

Overhead is 29 frame start up, and is also -27 but it has deceptive block stun, meaning it has zero.

Mid demon comes out in 26 frames but takes a while to actually hit the opponent. but is about -7 on block. So yes all demons are punishable on reaction by a good portion of the cast during start up, let alone on block. Demon disappears if Scorpion is hit.

Jesus christ the hypocrisy is real. Someone complains about their character being nerfed and everyone talks shit and says get over it , but you damn well when their character gets nerfed they're just as salty , they just don't make a thread about it.
