Question - Kano KANO needs some buffs?

Kano is really good if you recognize that his strength rests in versatility. You can play any way you want with Kano and he has a chance. The characters you're comparing him to play really well when played the one right way to play with them. Kano can do it all, just not as well as the one thing these other characters have going for them.

I hear what you're saying, but it means nothing.

Being able to play "any style you want" sounds good on paper, but then what? If Hellfire Scorpion can simply body all 3 versions of Kano then it's irrelevant that he can "do it all but excels in none". He just gets bodied in all 3 variations by 1 characters 1 variation lol.

I can see the potential of Hellfire Scorpion, but I played a really, really good one using Kano a few weeks ago. He bodied me once, but then I won the next three before he quit. What turned the tide was me baiting the teleport, waiting on it, and just vertical jumping and punishing. The timing was kind of strict because the EX will beat it out if you do it too early - and he'll just spear you if you're late, but it forced him into the meta. I used most of my meter on Kano's EX Cannonball and I caught him with the counter without getting exposed by doing it when he hadn't committed. So, I had to wait and react - so he dictated the pace, but I was able to win the exchanges by being prepared and reacting correctly.

Now, I haven't run into a great one, but I'm not great - so there's no reason for me to believe that I could beat a great one - regardless of whom I use.

A good scorpion isn't going to allow a bait teleport because they know how very unsafe the move is.

A good hellfire scorpion is going to rush you down and lock you up with fireball cancels and only use tele in air to air situations or within combo strings.

Kano gets smashed in that MU, all day by a good Scorpion.

Ah yeah Commando Choke. Then again it's not all useless, it's a great brutality :tonyt

So Coach Steve and Hippo are just winning because people don't know the matchup? Lol please.

Yeah I think I took it the wrong way, too busy blowing other people up since it's fun :joker: as for Kano players asking for buffs it's seriously not a problem when you look at him compared to the rest of the cast and especially to how his tools are right now. I mean we're not asking for an overhead and 12 other buffs like the Kitana mains (coincidentally she's also a zoner but apparently she needs rushdown buffs l o l ), we're actually mainly asking for mostly fixes. We aren't asking for him to be top tier because we're not stupid, we understand and like that he's one of the best designed and most balanced characters in the game but without the few fixes we're suggesting he could end up not being able to do things he should be able to do. And not just things we think he should be able to do, things that he literally is supposed to be able to do like anti-air with up ball.
Exactly what are they winning and who are they winning against.. He is bad get over it. Or keep up playing I don't really care

This is probably the dumbest thing you could post on a competitive MK site lol
So, you think a character with a lot of tools that struggles against the elite characters should get buffed before the characters that have no chance against the elite characters should?

The only way to bait him into it is to eliminate his other options and be prepared to react correctly.

Saying you can't even access the meta leaves me with a question. Are you struggling because of a lack of tools, skills, or resiliency?

Don't try and put words in my mouth homie.

If you say he's fine to people who don't want to win tournaments with him, you're talking about casuals.

This is the hub for COMPETITIVE play

cybernetic kano is one of the strongest characters in the game imo. at least hes one of the worst matchups for raiden.

Ask him yourself I don't know his competitive history. And keep downplaying all you want, most of the community (some of which actually go to competitions and play offline with other people instead of caressing TYM with the soft touch of word vomit for most of the day) are saying the same as what I'm saying whereas you just have M2Dave agreeing with you. What do you actually think I'm saying about the character? Obviously you have a completely wrong and unjustified assumption of what my opinion is and I want to laugh at what you think I'm saying without having any evidence to back up your assumption.
XBL is for little kids and people who like to watch TV. :DOGE
Hey fuck you I am indifferent to TV :DOGE

Well lets not get too hasty. List the most popular variations then compare them to Cybernetic Kano and you'll see that most of those variations if not all of them are better than and/or beat Cybernetic Kano. Claiming he's "one of the strongest characters in the game" is an overstatement.

If people like Coach Steve/others can blow it up at majors people won't think kano is bad. Fact is though... people haven't seen kanos place at majors and therefore don't think he's good. Not arguing if he is good or bad (I'm still not sure where he falls in a tier list), but I can understand why observers who never see kano on stream don't think he's any good.

I think the opposite is true. Kano isn't seen at many majors, actually less and less with each tournament, because at a competitive level most players have seen he isn't as good as initially thought. Not because he's so good but not being used.

Yeah that's what I mean. That's the reason why he isn't showing up in tourney matches past pools. I think kano's tools (especially cyber) are really good for blowing up people with poor fundamentals, but once you start getting further into tourneys better players can nullify this and play around a metagame that does not favor kano.

I feel like that's what happened to me. The few high level players that I can get consistent games with have gradually started pulling away in sets more than they were 3-4 weeks ago. Obviously we're all getting better, but I feel the more exposure to Kano the less dangerous he is, while other characters with mountains of bs keep their bs.

We're seeing more Shinnok's than Kano's now in tournaments. I think that says it all.

I facepalm at the argument that lack of representation at majors = bad character or only one good player of said characters. Frankly that's just ignorance. Lack of representation can come down to several things:

- The character doesn't fit the archetype/playstyle of character others want to play
- Most of the mains of that character don't go to many competitions
- People would rather play a braindead free win character and will pick the best and/or easiest character in the game instead
- People are loyal to a specific other character despite their playstyle, otherwise they might have ended up playing someone like said underrepresented character
- They tried the character and just didn't want to play them lol

Lack of representation does not necessarily mean the character is bad, occasionally (but not often) it can be that but there are other reasons as to why a character could be underrepresented. Let's look at some examples: Digit and Indecisive played Shazam in Injustice who was relatively low tier, Insuperable and Dink played Quan Chi who was relatively low tier in MK9. There were rarely many Kenshis in competition, and Batgirls, but that doesn't mean the character was bad nor does it mean there were no other mains for that character.
We're seeing more Shinnok's than Kano's now in tournaments. I think that says it all.
Well, I'm pretty sure xSmokex and Max have been playing Shinnok since the start, and there aren't many Kano mains that enter competitions besides maybe Decay, Hippo and Coach Steve (at least right now), none of which have been at majors recently as far as I'm aware. Lets not be too hasty here...
Everyone who fights against a Kano just blocks low. If he had an over head it would just be easier .
We don't need him to be easy, we just want all his tools to work properly.

My mindset is sure, he's underrepresented but I'm doing my best to change that. 'Nuff said

Also if they block low I get free tick throws. Please block low.

I believe Hippo primarily uses Cutthroat
