Match-Up Discussion - Bojutsu In Case You Were Wondering Who Beats Bojutsu Kung Jin...

It's - on block?? How -??
If they do it on the way up its unsafe. Not sure how minus but definitely punishable. If they do it on the way down then its not.
On the way up hits mid and is around -14 or -15 if you block it, any 12 to 10 frames fast advancing normal will punish it on the way down. the faster the easier.
On the way down is overhead and -10 on block.

Max Ranged some characters only get a reversal punish, but if a launcher is enough.

I dont think there's anyone that really beats him as such. I think Dragon Fire Liu Kang falls into this category too though. Legit the only character to give me issues but still too early to tell IMO.

I play f0xy all the time, Kung Lao is only a problem for Kung Jin at this point if the opponent is a better player than you.
None of my suggestions were characters that definitely beat him. I think they're close to even either way but nothing wrong with a 5-5 or 6/4 MU. It all comes down to the players at that point really.

I think Kung Lao still has so many great tools. Teleport to make you scared to anti air him. Can confirm several strings into safe low hat or plus on burn MB low hat. his 11212string is 0,0,-4 and leads easily to tick throws. Its hard to take advantage of the neutral frame advantage (without soon to be patched out option selects) because you don't whether he'll continue the string or low hat. Great whiff punishes with Divekick though for admittedly low reward.

Weeks ago I thought lao was a thinking mans char, today I realized you just have to abuse the living shit out of b2 low hat mixups.

Who have you been playing? Can't find many good people on PS4 :(

Under my theory crafting I think Liu would do fine against him. Maybe in FF as well.

I played a few games online with you the other day in the Grandmaster Sub vs Jin MU and I think Sub does pretty well. You have to be on point with your space control though, and have to sit much further behind the clone than any other mu just cause of Jin's range. It is mostly about baiting your opponent into making mistakes, so I'm not sure how effective Sub will be as the Kung Jin community develops further but I'd like to know what the rest of you guys think.

I think I vaguely remember that haha. Sub does decently well against KJ but the more I play the matchup the less worried I am about him.

I know who doesn't beat that little cock stain! Me... People are always talking about how his wake ups and ex moves are punishable by down 1 3 or 4! Lol
All that will get you is a bit of pressure... That's not a punish dude. That's prolonging the inevitable. He's gonna kick your ass! This guy is good in the hands of complete scrubs.

Death is my business
I have the same issue, is it me or aren't there a lot of EU PS4 players?
There are many ( like me lol ) that don't play a lot in rooms and prefer to do private matches (+ party chat) and there are a bunch of good players , hit me up.

I never play in rooms, lol.
Didn't know you were on PS4, I'll add you and we can play :).

Disclaimer: I have not played the best player of each character, yet. I will admit that. That being said, it is obvious to see what kills Bojustu Kung Jin. I believe it's pretty simple to understand who he has a problem with. Rest of the match-ups are near even or he wins, probably.

You can't outzone Kung Jin, he gets in.
You can't outfootsie Kung Jin, he has the range and mix-ups.
You can't outjump him, his nj2 is 2nd best in game.

So how do you beat him?

You have to maintain pressure, be able to close gaps, and have better zoning tools. There are only 2 characters that have these tools:
Jax and Reptile.

I am confident that Jax and Reptile, both, beat Kung Jin.

Jax's Superman Punch and Reptile's Slide punish Kung Jin jump badly.
Their constant in-your-face pressure is hard for Kung Jin to deal with...I know what you're saying "mb wake-up tho or block"...have you tried blocking a good Jax's corner pressure or a good Reptile's ball setups? lol good luck.
They both have better zoning options than Kung Jin, as Jax's mb pink shit hits low and Reptile's balls' speed can be controlled.

All Kung Jin can do is try to punish (hard cuz Jax is safe on a lot of his shit apparently) and then rely on 11 pressure.

Another reason why Reptile and Jax are so good vs Kung Jin is in order for a Kung Jin to control the match, he has to dictate the pace and the spacing...which is easy for him to do. Rep and Jax, both, have start-up strings that advance really really well, literally taking away Kung Jin's control over spacing. Not to mention their fast moving slide and superman punch can punish Kung Jin for trying to maintain the spacing.

Obviously, it's not going to be a free win for Reptile and Jax players, I'm just saying there is a good chance that Kung Jin loses to these characters. Reptile variation doesn't matter, Jax has better chance with Wrestler.
Kitana out zones Kung Jinn. Even using ancestral you have to respect the fans. They got a huge hotbox. Even Jaqui out zones Jin with full auto. You gotta respect both. Move in with patience and attack with bojutsu. If you want of course.

He's the only character I've been having relative success with against Kung Jin's, though the way you dash right up to the ice clone is hella intimidating  I think you were trying to dash block the clone though.
