NRS.. PLEASE fix the input drop bug!!!

I am making this thread because I have learned that there are those who are not aware of this issue. i was always surprised that NO ONE ever made a big deal about this on the forums and even more surprised that this is hardly talked about at all and that no one brought up that it wasnt fixed in the patch.

there is a bug in MK9 on BOTH consoles where the game will at random drop your inputs. I have played sub-zero players, be HOLDING down to duck the freeze so as to not block it and give him more meter, then the game makes me stand up and I get hit with the freeze. This happens to a lot of people actually yet NO ONE says anything. half the time in this game you cannot consistently get a d1,d2,d3,d4 because you randomly get a standing version of the attack. combos are dropped because inputs randomly drop, etc..

think people.. have you ever done d4,d1, uppercut, and got a standing attack and thought "wtf, i didnt do that..". have you ever tried to attack or been mid combo and have random commands not come out?

fighting game players are infamous for saying stuff like "thats not what i did" or something along those lines. players in general are infamous for blaming the game for mistakes lol. well guess what? in MK9... its actually true.

this game even makes it impossible to know if you made an input error or if the input bug happened. 90% of the time its probably the input bug, but even still you can see how this also makes it hard to improve on ones mistakes.

seriously guys, MK9 will never be taken seriously until this bug is fixed. a game where the actual game will cause you to miss commands at critical times?

lets all get on NRS until they fix this!

Well, sometimes I'm holding block and it suddenly stops the blocking animtion for a milisecond, allowing me to get hit. Iunno if it's practice mode or something.

That's about right.
LOL. There have been several times I'm neutral blocking and someone just punches me in the face like I wasn't holding block. It's my biggest gripe about the game.

That happens to me quite a few times but I always thought it was my fault even thought it felt like I didn´t do anything wrong. Weird thought it´s only getting noticed now. I guess more people thought it was their fault.

I fully support this thread.

I also find it kind of fucked up that something like a difference in my TV and Super Duper Player A or B's TV is the difference between me playing at halfspeed, and him moving like lightning without missing a beat. THIS is my biggest issue, and not being a very tech-savvy person, I don't know what the cause of it is, but it's extremely frustrating knowing I'm not going as fast/inputting as solidly as I should, and there isn't any amount of practice that can fix it. Not even Online, just regular plain ol' game. Agitated.

i wonder if this can be fixed at all... erik warda and REO had an interesting discussion on it on the last VSM (all their trolling aside) where they were mentioning that the better you get at the game the more chances you have of the glitch occurring since you are simply inputting your commands faster.

i got this recently while playing Cyrax... tryied to d4 and got a 4 which meant eating full combo. I do agree with this petition, however Im not sure if it can be fixed due to how deep in the code the problem lies (as warda said) I would also like an insta block system implemented while we´re at it :) it would solve many problems as well

For those holding block but punched anyway, are you playing on pad or stick? Seems like the trigger has to be mashed all the way down to keep registering, but since I moved to stick I've experienced this much less.

PS3 Pad, and you're right. The chunkiness of the trigger can sometimes cause the input to slip.

Most tv´s have a mode, usually named ´gaming mode. well, all the TVs in my house have a ´gaming mode´. Which don´t enhance or adjust the image at all.
You see the problem these days with the new tvs is that they adjust the image to make it look better/smoother/whatever and that causes the lag. But still every tv should have a switch to turn it off and just produce the raw images given by the source and you will have a lag free game.
Or just buy an old fatass television which also have zero lag.

Personally I've experienced it on the 360 controller first so I decided to use my stick, still experienced it time to time, so I wen't to pad and Its still happening.

...I really wish that had occured to me previously.

-_-; <---- Me.

I'm gonna run through my settings and give it a try.
It'd be nice to be able to go Mustard Speed with my robot for a change.

This happens to me frequently. I use Sindel and the faster I become with her the worse it is. Projectiles not registering, carwheels end up being a kick. I've lost countless matches due to this.

Is this 360 exclusive? I'm on PS3 and while I get plenty of times where input delay makes the wrong move come out, I've never once in over 800 games had an input totally dropped like this.

I caught VSM the other night and a couple of players were talking about it frequently and I believe they use a PS3 there. Not certain, but I think so.

Ah, I knew I wasnt crazy and that my stick is flawless.

LOTS of time when im rushing with c.3 my char dond crouch and do the attack standing up (wich mess entirely my strat and play). Funny though is that I can see the crouching frames appearing then the stupid standing attack comes out...

EDIT: This has happened both ps3 and 360 BTW

Sometimes I made taht call here: The better I play MK9, the worst the game behaves. It seems that the game cant handle some stuff or at least it cant "keep up". IMO

do not get off track. this post has zero to do with anything about tv settings. this thread is about discussing the bug that causes inputs to be dropped.
Tom have you ever spoken to ne1 from NRS about this? do you think it is actually fixable via patch or is it too deep in there and not worth the effort/manpower/money for them (or WB) at this point? your post above hints a glimmer of hope :)

Oh no doubt there are glitches. Can't tell you how many times I did d1 and got standing 1, but the trigger was a big part of my blocking issues.

I've also seen this happen to the dummy while in the lab, so I wouldn't be sure about it being a kontroller trigger problem.

Same doubt here. All i want to know is: Is it possible to fix without the need of another standlone title? because if it's not, at least we won't keep dwelling in a false hope.
