NRS.. PLEASE fix the input drop bug!!!

Number one thing I can't stand on this game is the input bug. I can't tell you how many times I've lost games or how it has thrown off my momentum in critical moments. This along with the meter drain glitch and negative edge is too fucking much.

It's been an important issue since day one and I'm surprised it's just being acknowledged now.

Maybe its just being acknowledged now because players in general are getting better at the game and faster in their execution; so non pro players are not only getting it more often but general awareness is being raised by threads like this and last VSM discussion. There´s a general "oh shit it wasnt my bad execution" vibe going on.

Meter drain glitch is of course a problem too, getting hit out of your XRay AND losing your meter is way too much.

I actually notice this a lot playing with Rain. I go to a uppercut in the middle of my combo and get a standing 2 sometimes. Quite annoying.

After doing a teleport with ermac and i want to do a d.1 into lift for example i often get a standing 1.
I thought it was because i did the down to early after the teleport(recovery) and that it therefore didn't register the down but did however got the standing 1.

Now i'm not sure again if this is the same case, but after a dash i try to start a string that starts with a b1 for example, but i get just a 1 occasionally.
But seeing as you can cancel the dash with any attack it shouldn't be a problem, i'm doing it too fast and therefore negative edge remembers the forward dash input?

This should have been fixed long ago in the first patches. I know Mortal Kombat 9 is far from a perfect fighting game, but if NRS has any hope in MK9 Dominating the fighting game community; NRS needs to prioritize on these super technical problems that make a huge difference in competitive play and less on the whims of trolls who complain that a low hat is to good. My advice to the trolls however, RB+DOWN.

my favorite is when i try to jump forward and i end up jumping straight up (from the left side only it seems). happens even more with my ps2 converter/s.

another one that happens a lot is going for b3 with jade after her b2. usually only 3 will come out. to me, that is most common occurence.

say you did b3 in mkda/mkd/mka... you could do 3b and the move still came out.

So tell me, why is it you are posting if you have stopped playing mortal kombat? It just seems wired for someone who hates MK9 so much to be hanging around a site that's all about MK9.

I hope this hot mess gets fixed. People always blamed me for complaining about missing a block or something but it seems it was this damn input bug all along. This will seriously hurt mk's rep if nothing is done.

thanks for opening my eyes reo and brady, i thought i was the one making mistakes and not pressing the directional before i press the buttons and thats why i was getting a different move, i learned about this on salty battle 3 and analyzing some of the videos i noticed is not only trying a down1,2,3,4 also it affects special moves, sometimes i wanted to get a ex bomb to go into a combo and normal bombs came out, after retesting this home actually happens with a lot of imputs, like enhance moves, special moves, ducking moves and so forth, now we cannot identified when is us messing up the moves or is the goddamn bug, i just hope they fix this asap because the more players that find about this will shit on the game about these bugs, and the game will get bad reputation, stop complaining about buffs nerfs on characters and just level up yourselves, and really worry about netherrealms fixing this problem or people will start dropping this game, is frustrating and personally if i get one of these again in a critical moment in a tourney will make me think about playing this game professionally again. Pls NRS try to fix this problem and don't let these bugs ruin such a precious game.

I'm with Maxter on this one; all the time I will be attempting to uppercut someone after a waterball or lightning combo yet occasionally (quite too frequently) a standing 2 will come out and completely ruin the entire thing. Up until reading this I thought it was just me, and even before that I thought it was my fightstick going out or something so I'm glad someone brought this up.

I love this game to death but never in my life have I seen a fighting game that requires so much constant patching and hotfixes because of bugs that litter the game. I mean, alot of people think that NRS studios is working their asses off to produce these patches, which they are. But the problem is that they shouldn't have to, albeit their work is respectable I still can only shake my head and just wish they got it right the first time. :/

I also completely agree. NRS must fix this glitch. Perhaps the glitch could be hotfixed. You cannot have such a glitch in a serious, competitive fighting game.

This seriously needs to be addressed. I can't count how many times I've tried to AA D4 w/Mileena and I get punished because it came out as standing 4.

I at least look at it as, at least NRS is has done they're best to make things as balanced as possible and fix the issues people have. This is really they're first fighting game that had to be up today's standard of fighting games and they're doing their best. I mean Capcom released the garbage that is Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and did absolutely nothing to fix any of the problems. Instead we get Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 9 months down the road, which is crap if you ask me. So, while it sucks MK has issues, I have faith that NRS wants to do things right but I can only imagine how hard they're working to keep everyone happy.

I don't understand how EVERYTHING has out prioritized a bug that truly fucks up high level play.

I've had this happen often, but I thought it was my execution. It was just me doing the inputs too quickly.

Now that you mention it, I have noticed things like this happening to me a lot.

When I was playing against my friend offline, sometimes, when I tried to dash forward and then press down (a projectile was coming) I would still get hit... This seems to happen more often than not when Im playing Kung Lao. Sometimes I would try to low poke, and instead, do a stand up kick, punishable by Raidens superman. I've chalked it up to my execution failures, but its happening too often randomly....

Honestly I didn't know this was a bug. I thought it was just my execution at times, but yeah, this has definitely affected me plenty of times. This can be an absolute deal breaker for characters like Stryker or Quan who are incredibly reliant on their uppercut to AA.
