If Gummo is making the ps2 to ps4 convertor for you this is what he is doing.

He will use Toodle's FGWidget convertor (http://www.godlikecontrols.com/download/converterwelcome2.pdf) as a ps2 Decoder. What this does is basically read the signals sent out from your ps2 pad and converts it into a wired signal for each button and direction. These wired signals will then be connected to the corresponding signal on a common ground ps4 pad. So your converter signal chain will be Your thumb->ps2 pad->FGWidget-> ps4 pad->PS4. So pressing a button on your ps2 pad activates a button on the ps4 pad. Lag will be non existent since ps2 pad inputs are sub 2 ms.

@C-Sword can tell you more about it if you have anymore questions since he had one made for him by Gummo.

With the lengths people are going to, at some point this community needs to do a Kickstarter, and just develop a pad :p

Gummo e-mailed me saying he can build a converter for PS2 to XB1/PS4 is $120 and USB to XB1/PS4 is $140.

Yeah, I'd been using the PS2 to PS4 converter he made me since January, no lag, it's about the size of a laptop power brick. He'll ask you to choose between the DS4 PCB or the FC4's. I went with the FC4.

If using the DS4 pcb then you'll have access to the touch pad button, auto connection to ps3/ps4, and capable to connect wireless to a PS3/PS4 if the usb cable is plugged into a usb battery. Will not have home button support on ps3.

If using the hfc4 pcb you'll lack the touch pad button, works on ps3, no wireless at all. Will have home button support for both PS3 and PS4.

Agree 1000%, competing cost money, point blank period, so in my opinion, if a person feels they have an honest shot at winning and does not want to miss out, its a good investment to purchase the needed tools for competing.

I like that, except for the d-pad. I felt the Madcatz wobbly disc d-pads were huge and awful. I much prefer a PS (or even SNES) styled Dpad

Yessir, it does. Haven't actually played with it setup like that, but I have ran my etokki into it, using a ps2 pad, and navigated the dash of my ps4.

I was considering picking up a used Xbone for this, but do I really want to drop roughly $320-350 to get scrubbed out in a FT1 every week and then be mad?

I suppose I could play KI again and hope Jago becomes a real character again, but mehhh.

sub 1% of MKX buyers are going to become competitive offline tournament players, thus rendering your proverbial "dropped ball on making ton of money" statement as nothing short of a major stretch. additionally, the PS4 will continue to be the tournament standard for grass-root majors whilst having the largest community, so your reasons for purchasing the console remain valid. All the ESL deal with Microsoft means is that it'll benefit the X1 competitive community and the MKX community in general due to the exposure on a big stage.

Would the USB to xb1/ps4 work for converting something like a qanba Q4 fightstick for use with the new gen consoles?

From what i understand, Josh Gray from ESL went to Sony first and asked for sponsorship for the League, however Sony turned ESL down, so they went to Microsoft instead. We need to blame Sony for this one.

It definitely would have been better if they had announced it earlier, but all the announcements were on a time release for unspecified reasons.

Same here, I'm not delusional in thinking I would go far in this thing. Plus I have comcast internet so that pretty much put the kaibash on that. I love my ps4.

I did not know that. I wonder if that had anything to do with Sony already funding the new SF?

Xbone from what I've heard has always been used by esl not to mention a lot of people own a xbone so this helps those guys out who had to buy a ps4 because Evo said so.

I pretty much said this exact thing earlier in the thread and people just glossed right over it. I guess the logic was hurting their fanboyism too much....

This should be taken as the one true answer and this thread closed.
