Well, it kills it for me because Kabal is not in the game (although Sonya still is).
I don't know. I think that for tournaments and competitive play, I will focus on one or two characters max out of the gate and get them to a state of competitiveness. Besides, with variations, there is more time and focus required for each character now too.
That's not to say I won't dabble in almost all of them at some point. With MK9 when I was bored and had time I had a series of 100. Where I took each character and ran 50-100 matches and recorded the results. Just did this to understand match-ups and options the opponent might have. I'm sure I'll end up doing something similar. Plus, but end of MK9, though my strongest characters were Kabal and Sonya for majors, I've used Cyrax, Skarlett, Kung Lao, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, Smoke and Liu Kang in locals.
If a character looks fun to play, odds are I'm playing him.
