Stop the rant. I don't believe this "leak" is confirmation of anything, however, I don't see anything wrong if these characters are in the game. There are really a lot of biased comments, everyone with their own definition of "Iconic", "classic", and "unique" that in the end boils down to character you like losing their spots to others you don't.

all the characters that you like, will not make it into the game. This is true for most people. Appreciate the ones you got, and don't be selfish, remember there are other people with different favorites.
I , for example, wanted Reiko in the game, and I also like other characters with very little chances of making it like Mavado; Hotaru; Havik and even Bo' Rai Cho. I also understand others want Noob, Sindel and Rain, Cyborgs, etc, but COME ON, some of you are talking about Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax and Liu Kang, as if they were minor characters in the MK universe. They are highly iconic characters, with big roles on the MK lore even now, and a bigger fandom than a lot of the characters you want to switch them with.
And I don't see how Cassie Cage could replace both Sonya and Johnny, only someone that's not a fan of either of her parents would believe that. As a Johnny Cage fan, I like her, but she could not replace JC ever. HOWEVER, if Johnny does not make it in the game, I will just accept it and OBVIOUSLY still buy the game, and probably have loads of fun with it. Deal with it guys, and be respectful.

The Gamefaqs post is 100% true for the last remaining characters from what i heard elsewhere.

Also, heard Tanya and Tremor is also DLC.

If this ends up ebing the actual roster I'm going to be pretty letdown, I get why it would be for story reasons, it makes a ton of sense but it's just like damn it's kinda boring to me so many Earthrealm reps. I do trust NRS to make Johnny, Jax, & Sonya play cool but outside of Cage I've never been the biggest fan of that crew.

if i had to name my top 10 least favourite characters of mk history, sonya, liu and Johnny would all be in, along with guys like mavado, kobra, nitara, and darrius. i wish they would finally leave for good...

there are so many cool characters in the mk universe which could be explored further, like havik, fujin, reiko, bo rai cho, skarlet, noob saibot and maybe even more new characters. hell even shang tsung is not in this roster... instead the most bland (kung fu monk, army person, troll character...) are featured AGAIN, some IN ADDITION TO THEIR OFFSPRING:
