OK real talk, Murk proved he's really good, and that he's the best Nightwing. He did well. And even in the sets he lost, he didn't look completely of his depth.

BUT

If anyone else talked the amount of pre-tournament shit he did, and made the claims he did ("killuminati," "billuminati," "I'm there to kill the illuminati," "force them on their knees," "only winning matters," "top 8 means nothing," "finishing 2nd is like finishing last," "these guys are free, what have they ever won?") only to get his back blown out by the same players he was blowing up, fail to make top 8, and then come and claim that he'll refuse to apologize, they'd be torn to pieces. This is essentially training wheels 2.0.

But for obvious reasons, he's getting a pass.

I'm not saying blow him up, because I do think he did well. But I like how the standards he applies to other people somehow don't apply to him. Oh well.

At least "billuminati" is a really clever name.

"You think you bad? Pffft, You ain't bad.."
KTF needs to apologize for not mentioning NorCal (BLT) in their list of scenes to watch out for. NorCal put in work at KiT!
Shoutouts to @Blind_Ducky and @cR WoundCowboy for preforming so well at KiT!
BLT needs to apologize to itself for thinking that we are free AF for losing to ducky all the time but realizing now that everyone is free AF to Ducky. BLT confirmed top 8 guaranteed at KIT :DOGE

I mean either way he did super well and was a treat to watch. The trash talk may have been real BTW him and whoever else, but that brings the hype so it made things interesting. Also training wheels 2.0? Men didn't have near that effect. Just my opinion on it.

He did really well and I applaud him for the trash talk, and I said as much when in that other thread. I approve of the hype and because of that, his set with Ducky was great to watch.

But bringing hype doesn't mean your words can't come back to bite you. The only difference between this and training wheels is that Murk didn't make a thread about it, but the comments literally have the same content: "Player A is free. Player B is overrated. I will beat them all. I will place. Only winning matters (at least PL said only top 3 matters lol)." It's literally the same. And like PL, he got 9th.

I mean as a former shit talker yourself, you know it's important to back it up MIT. You did. Murk hasn't, yet. I genuinely thing he's really good and hope he continues to bring the hype.

Truth, justice and the American way.
I demand an apology from TYM as a whole for selling LoTF the bill that he completely reinvented the Superman/NW matchup based on one sloppy set. Because of your eagerness to "blow up" the Nightwing subcommunity, there was absolutely ZERO matchup discussion and instead inspired a Dick measuring contest (begun by members outside of the subcommunity) that continues to this fucking day. Not ONCE did LOTF backdash an air laser in ANY of the matches he played, something that many - not just NW players - on the West Coast HAD to do to adapt to the MU. That isn't LOTF's fault. It's YOUR fault for shouting down any voice of criticism. Remember the "zoning superman" narrative? Yeah, that's how old this MU knowledge dates back to. Fly got exposed in that 3-0 and its not his fault - it's yours, TYM.

EVERYONE in the Capcom community gave John Choi his props when he beat Daigo at EVO last year, but there were ARTICLES by MANY players that dissected the matches and discussed the mistakes made by both parties according to the MU. From dropped combos to unnecessary risks, everyone laid out everything on the table. None of them were accused of jealousy, hatred or maliciousness. That's the cancer of this community.

And I demand an apology from all the people in the stream chat who declared "KDZ just didn't know the MU" after PerfectLegend displayed that - at the MU's most basic level - all Superman needs is one hit and a few lasers. "KDZ didn't know the MU" got me and many others CRUCIFIED last year, the idea that anyone can say that without first apologizing for making a spectacle of the NW community. How fucking dare you.

Now whether or not these apologies are received? Idgaf. My point here is to let you know that LOTF lost to PL this weekend, in part, due to how eager you all were for a "blow up" despite there never actually being anything done to blow anyone up. Because you held a grudge against me, or some other NW, or the NW subcommunity as a whole, I don't care whatever the case was that inspired so much toxicity - the community as a whole was made worse for it.

Shoutouts to the NW players for showing up big at KIT. Hope to see a NW crack Top 8 at EVO.

You right it does have to be backed up, but I am sure murk will give it another go tho. NW's top 8 dream is still alive.

1) This thread should become a thing after every major. Thank you habibi Jivan @EMPEROR_THEO

2) I want to be clear that trash talk is always awesome. Watching Ducky vs. Murk on stream was fantastic. Everybody was going ape shit, it was super tense, even @Kitana Prime on commentary was nervous for no reason lol. But once you trash talk, you either feel yourself after you back it up or you get blown up for not doing so. It's no big deal. That doesn't mean it should stop. It's just the way it is.

3) This thread is awesome.

PS: I like how after all the "why does the NW community get a bad rap" threads we still have random NW related drama.
