There's gotta be a strong correlation of people who say 'spam' and losing. Spam by definition is predictable so it's an admission of a player's failure to adapt. Adaptation is the most important fundamental of every FG. Except Karate Champ.

In between getting bodied by @Laos_boy in grundy/frost and @Rally Jackson in a Grundy mirror I ran into this GL player called BatmanBeatsCap. At the time I was sad about my Grundy getting rekilled after death by Laos so I picked my trusty Billy Batson and proceed to knock the guy down with a sweep to start the round and then drain his life bar with shazamigans on the ground. He tries to zone with rockets and air rocket thingy but it's too late and I swag combo my way to victory with consecutive psycho crusher mb's. Then I get this message
"nice spam noob"
so I send back "lol
and he sends back "Learn to play child, so we might one day have a game where you can do more than one move. Have fun in special ed tomorrow."
I responded by asking him if he was often beaten in games of skill by the mentally handicapped, never got a reply
Then I played an 8 or 9 game set with MajesticWEEWEE, who picked zod against my Grundy and beat me by about 10 percent, and then I beat his doomsday pretty easy with grundy, then i drop one again vs hawkgirl by about 25 percent. I was once again demoralized by the fact that my grundy was getting swept up (even in bad matches) by a guy I knew I was better than, so back to shazam I went... And he immediately picks Aquaman (at which point i assumed he was just trying to counterpick). He beat me by chip (HOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA) one game but then I rattled off 3 or 4 in a row (the last by a full bar and a half life lead) prompting him to go back to character select where he goes to nightwing. After all the disadvantage mu's i had played already I wasn't about to deal with staffwing as shazam so I dipped into my bag of tricks for my trusty Cal El (shoutouts to DMS) and bodied the dude with heat zap almost exclusively, which causes him to run back to zod. I stayed with superman, and beat his zod almost as bad and almost again completely with zoning. He then sends me this gem
"Poor child cant win fighting"
to which I responded with "coming from a zod player? now i've seen everything"
and he sends back "heat vision spam lil nigga can't fight"
so I send back "remember when I beat you repeatedly with shazam in an adv mu for aqua? Stay free"
and he sends me "you mean the torpedo move and the one combo everybody does... clearly"
so I ask him if he's salty to lose so many advantage matchups, and he tells me I must be salty to go to superman for help
I sent him a message and asked him if he knew that zod can pretty reliably zone superman
he then sends me (this one was my favorite) "dont spam and stay back and he will"
at which point i said "so do nothing? lol learn to block" and he said "learn to fight"
I responded saying "so I can beat you worse?"
and he sent me (changed my mind, this one is my favorite) "so you can possibly win without spamming like a [insert anti-gay slur here]. you heat vision spammers and even nonstop shooters with deathstroke shouldnt play if wont actually fight"
Filled with joy I sent him "OH YEAH BABY GIMME DAT SALT"
then he sends back "you cryin?"
and I said "only tears of joy. Stay free, padawan"

sorry for the long post, felt like contributing since it's been a while
the gamble with shazam's 2,2 (the knee into the roundhouse) is that 2,2 xx command grab is interruptable, but 2,2 xx psycho crusher isn't, which means you have to guess in that situation. I would say most shazam's don't do 22 psycho crusher enough, so just go into training and find out how to blow up 2,2 command grab with your character and practice like anything else. That at least adds another layer of mindgames for you, especially if you can punish the psycho crusher on block

i played a guy for a game in player match the other day and bodied him until he ragequit, then we got matched up like 4 times in a row after and he wouldn't fight me once. I don't get it, why play if you're not actually going to play?
Was he at least hitting decline? Most people just wait it out. If I wait long enough they eventually back out. It's like being a door to door salesman and instead of people wanting to be exposed they pretend no one is there. Also I like getting bodied. If I'm not, I get bored really quick. Mostly because I get really excited to find a legit player in netplay. It's easy to forget how free I am fighting randoms.
LOL sometimes I think people actually aren't home though. Sometimes I'll walk away for 10 minutes and come back to someone waiting for me.
I get that, but it's still funny when I shrug and start browsing on my phone and 4-8 minutes later they decline.

You have to guess, but if you guess right you can punish. What this means is commit to your guess. If I think he's going high command grab, I duck then buffer a full combo punish. If I think he's going low I'll stay standing and input a full combo punish. If I think he's doing torpedo, then stand block and confirm if he did the low grab (At that range you can't punish torpedo with some characters).

I first played manhunter's MMH first game, where I beat him by running the time out with solomon grundy. Nothing is said at this point, not until he barely beat me with his spam adam and endless lightning bolts and dive kicks. This is where he proceeds to message me and say "pathetic bitch". Then cyborg gets on his mic and starts poppin' off. he says "WOOOOOOOO! YEA MANHUNTER! GOTS FOR LIFE BABY BACK TO THE END OF THE LINE!". Next match, same outcome with my catwoman against his spam adam. Then he messages me again saying "like I said, pathetic".
Now this is where the salt starts. He messages me right before I play him again saying "ready scrub?". He goes martian to my grundy. I didn't waste time this time. After about 5 inescapable resets, I body him while still having my first life bar. He messages me saying "nothing but pure luck". "play your grundy against my black adam and c what happens, u will get bodied"
Next match, he goes adam to my grundy. I finally overcame the spam adam and beat him in a heartbreaker of a match that I claimed.
This is where he put his mic on.......
