I really wish there was a Joker who studied the match ups well enough to use the parries in real matches. I know there are at least a few patterns that even I've noticed like how black adams use d1 after certain combos almost every time. Plus I remember that Joker thread that exposed holes in the middle of certain combos, even the popular ones, that Joker could parry in the middle of. THAT'S the Joker I wanna see on stream.
We try to, but here's the thing: We can't use our parry as a wakeup or a reversal.
That means there are gaps that other parry characters can punish that we can't (Especially jump-in follow-ups, GL's B13. or BA's D1 after B23). Combine that with the fact our parry has about 4 active frames and 26 or so ending frames and well, there's a reason a lot of us won't do parries unless we see specific animations ahead of time. On top of all of that, our parry buff isn't exactly stellar and can sometimes make us worse than before we hit the trait buff.
I know I personally use it on reactable overheads, B3s with easy to see windup, a few strings where I can react to the parry-able hit (Like Martian's 22b3) or if I'm feeling lucky I might try it on a read.
But yeah... the reason we don't parry much is that even if we KNOW what you are going to do, even if we are so confident that we could put money on it, that still doesn't mean our parry will work. I have been punished more times than I can count for trying to parry on a successful read...
