Question Why do so many people think he's #1 or #2?

RIF

Noob
Aquaman
Bane
Hawkgirl
Joker

Those are the best D2s in the game. Huge hitbox vertically and horizontally.

Sinestro
Frost
Deathstroke
Grundy

Those would be my next 4. All of them are very good but are just a shade under the top.

I hate it when people say Killer Frost has no footsies...what more could you ask for than a low that goes 3/4ths screen that leads into possible death? You couldn't ask for a better whiff punisher, that is the DEFINITION of a good footsie tool. It also leads into her post slide guessing game on block.

Also, I don't think people truly understand how amazing the footsie tools of Aquaman, Green Lantern and Superman are. The range they have for how damn fast those moves are (9, 9 and 8f) is crazy. Flash's B2 is an awesome footsie tool (at 15f), but it even loses pretty handily to those 3 characters. The presence those moves give them alone makes those characters scary. Add that in with Aquaman's underated forward dash recovery and that dash into B12 range becomes terrifying.

Can we be serious and talk about Harley Quinn's BAD d2?

Or how The Joker's d2 has a RIDICULOUSLY big hitbox that no one wants to admit?
Aquaman
Bane
Hawkgirl
Joker

Joker's d2 has a huge hitbox on the ground, but in the air it's actually pretty small and VERY prone to whiffing if you don't delay it. It's pretty strange.
It will connect from startup positions on the ground, but if their feet leave the ground, they have to be much closer.

I think its been covered very well here, but to reiterate for original post ..Aquamans strength lies in his D and footsies. There are some characters who simply get massacred just trying to get in.

"Top whatever" spawns the age old debate of how you do a MU chart. It is possible (I said possible not fact) that he has so many lopsided MUs that he may be top 5, top 3, hell top. Nobody knows. But if you use the system of adding up his MU numbers...he very well may be extremely high due to annihilation of certain characters.

As for the D2 debate, how are you gauging? Strictly as an anti air? Then sign me up for Aquamans. But if you are looking at it as a tool outside of anti air....safe quick D2s have more versatility. KF is a safe mid launcher that can lead to vortex, Doomys is actually his 2nd fastest normal and its safe. DS is adv on block (I think) and drastically lowers his hitbox. Etc. guess the top 5 and bottom 5 for me depend on if you mean anti air only, or the move as a whole.

I think you can also factor in the reward you get for landing a D2. KF would definitely be higher in the conversation if you talk about the fact that her D2 leads to the opponents potential death. Grundy's leads to a guaranteed reset which I believe is like 40% +.

Like I said in an earlier thread about this topic, AE Honda was considered #1 cause of his matchups against most of the cast but gets blown up by other top tier characters.

Aquaman is more or less the same. He'll body most of the cast but get bodied by other top tier characters.

Wow. How does that even work? I suppose I'll take my Joker upplay back, then.

Nah it's definitely a good d2, but it's weird in that it is better as a footsie tool than an AA... which is the opposite of what d2 is supposed to be in the traditional sense haha, but like I said, if you're good with timing it correctly and such, it can still be a pretty average/solid AA.

I thought Honda was #1 in super?

Foxy don't forget to add all wakeups stuffable as a weakness.

With that being said, if your characters has to play footsies you lose to Aquaman, end of story.
