I'm still listening to it but I think a good idea for making sure their connection is decent before playing is to have them go to pingtest.net and select Atlanta, GA on the map. Then look at their ping. If it's over 100 ms, i'd say that is unacceptable, IMO. I personally wouldn't want to do anything over 50 ms though, if you feel like you can be picky enough. Also, selecting Atlanta is important because the distance is a big factor for some people. Having them ping a server close to them doesn't mean too much, pinging an Atlanta server will give a much better idea of what the actual latency would be comperable to. For example, my connection right now gives 7 ms ping for connection to Chicago, while it gives 24 ms for connection to Atlanta. While connections won't be the same as the server used for these tests, using the Atlanta location should help give a decent approximation.

Down/Up speeds not so important for online gaming. My college dorm had the best connection for online gaming i've had ever used, and it had less than 1 MB Down/Up. I played WoW Arena seriously at the time and I had the lowest ping of anyone during those days.

So my suggestion for this, if you have it implemented, is to have the prospective players:
1) Go to pingtest.net
2) Select Atlanta, GA as the server
3) Run the test
4) Post the results

Doombawkz True, but playing long sets and learning how to figure out fighting the player and discovering habits as soon as possible is a crucial ability any top player needs to have. Most of the top players in any fighting game can do this in the first round.

So the more you play the long sets, the quicker you can pick up on the "player" aspect and then it comes back down to the matchup and becomes high level.

Geeze, you talk like you have some tournament experience or something.

Those things in no way resemble offense. His advancing launcher is negative on block, which gives him no continued offense. Being able to whiff punish or AA people is not offense, it's defense if anything.

Ryu's Shoryuken is full combo punishable on block, is that a bad move? NO... only when used badly.

That was my knee jerk reaction while laying in bed listening to your show. I was like, "oh hellll naw....I'm pausing this bitch". lol.

There is def. "catwomen" out there. I don't bring her out that often, due to loving KF and HG, but I am a day 1 CW main. Hell, I even brought her out during our match at Evo (although I was too distracted with all of the people watching us, talking behind us, and being distracted by your beauty). There is also Krayzie, 16 bit, and a handful of other people who play her exclusively.

Listen, let me give you the low down on Ra Helios. (Ra, if you read this, take it with a huge grain of salt and a big dose of witty humor )
He is kind of like our crazy skitzo pariah in our community. Yes...he did discover tech that is now named after him and he certainly contributes a lot of info, buuuuuuut, he is overly sensitive and argues some really weird points. I remember he was extremely salty when he wasn't named the best catwoman player because "he contributes all the best tech" (his words). He was also famous for making MU numbers for characters he never played (or even remotely played at high level). Me and Mayo used to go back and forth with this kid all the time and laughed at him like mean girls (hence the Regina George pic).

However, with all that said, I have never seen him in action, so I admittedly am happy for him if he impressed the likes of you and P2W. Also, I do admire his passion for CW and the drive to get better, so I can't knock him for that.

So yeah, BITCH PLEASE, before you start praising the likes of Ra Helios, you gotta go throw me, Krayzie, Mayo, and some other players who aren't well known. (that was me being hype, you know, like Zyphox) lol.
