This game is ridiculously balanced

My point is that Kabal is for sure #1 in the game, Kenshi and Cyrax are for sure #2 and #3, and Sonya is higher on the tier list than Kung Lao as well. So how does that make Kung Lao top 3?

Its debatable wheather KL is no.5 or Freddy is, Imma say KL is more deserving of that spot since he doesnt have a 3-7 unlike freddy.

I consider MK9 to have a 0/10 balance. No fg can have a legal character with no even mu's like Kabal and ridiculous characters like Kenshi with 7-3's and higher over half the cast.
As for Injustice, I'll give it 4/10 for now.

Lemme answer that one for you. Top 8 will consist of 3 Supermans , 2 Black Adams, 1 Chris G and 2 other, one of those likely being an Aquaman. The top characters haven't been hit hard enough to warrant mass droppings, but more than that, they've grown attached to their characters and want to put their best foot forward, so they will use what we know. Wait another month or so and then we'll really see a difference

I think the game is quite balanced now. People just need to figure out good strategies. We have so many options in this game. Sometimes it's hard to keep all of them in mind at once. It will get easier in time.

the thought crossed my mind as i kept watching different characters look and do really well in all sorts of tournaments (GGA is way better than WNF)

especially after the patch; was going to make a post but a REO post would definitely resonate more

i love this game. i just hope ppl move away from the arguing and pettiness now. and moving forward let the game evolve and stay competitive and give players the credit the deserve and not blame it on specific characters. i believe now that the game is much more balanced, it will allow the fundamentals to shine and not "oh well you play a braindead character."

I still get bitched at several times a day via messages on XBL about how I play a "brain dead character" since I main Doomsday, even with the balance patch.

It's not my fault Air Venom and Supernova pale in comparison to MB Venom and Earth Shake. I'm gonna abuse the hell out of the moves that work good for me and make other people's lives miserable.

Can we please stop this? I feel like arguing top 3 vs top 5 is so fucking moot it borders on retarded. You're all using top tier, the end. There's kabal tier, there's top tier (which is like 8 characters you can rearrange any fucking way you want) and there's the other 15 or so characters that lose on character select. That's mK9's tier list and it's horrible.

Why has no one raved about this yet? I have no freaking idea. But let's face it, the game is very well balanced. I WISH MK9 was half as balanced as Injustice is right now.

Now don't get me wrong. This game has it's retarded characters. The three stupidest characters in the game (in my opinion, of course) are:

MMH
Aquaman
Zod

And there is no denying that. And sure the game also has some very lopsided match-ups like:

MMH vs Green Arrow (8-2)
Aquaman vs Scorpion (8-2)
etc. etc.

But even so. The silliness doesn't just stop at the top three. You have characters like Killer Frost, Batgirl, Superman, Green Lantern, Black Adam, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. etc. that aren't too far behind at all. They are literally right there besides the leading characters.

Just think of how much a mess MK9 was with some of the top tiers. No one in Injustice holds a candle to Kabal. We're talking about a character with no even match-ups, for christ's sake. How stupid does that look and sound? How could someone possibly fathom or justify a character like that who exists as being okay? To make things worse, 80% of the cast could barely even fight the next character in line that was Kenshi. What an imbalanced train wreck.

At least the top three in Injustice have even match-ups. At least the top three in Injustice have some form of weakness. At least some "mid tiers" can give the top three in Injustice a run for their money.

And don't get me started on the bottom tier for MK:9. Gosh, they were terrible. Such complete wastes of space that you would turn the most innocent man into a ravaging salty demon with the sole purpose of uncovering the reason behind such character's uselessness. The bottom tier in this game? They still look pretty good to me and actually have a chance in tournament.

I mean, I may not like this game as much as I want to. But if there's something that I can always sit down and appreciate when talking about Injustice, it's the balance. And this is what NRS got right going forward from MK9. No other fighting game created by NRS can awe you with such stimulation on balance discussion like Injustice. It's something that will always put a smile on my face and make me go "Man, they definitely did a phenomenal job here." when looking at the character select screen.

I'm not determining the tierlist based on tournament results, I'm basing the tierlist off of the characters' tools and matchups in my opinion. If you based tierlists on tournament results, Cage and Kitana would be top tier, and in Injustice green arrow would be top tier lol. In my opinion Sonya only loses to 3 characters, Freddy Kabal and Kenshi. In my opinion Kung Lao loses to 4 characters, Kitana Kabal Cyrax and Cage. So Sonya is higher on the tierlist in my opinion because she loses to less characters. Also she beats alot of the lower tier characters worse than Kung Lao beats them. And honestly alot of people say that Sonya beats Kung Lao 6-4, and sometimes I want to believe that

As far as Cyrax goes, in my opinion Cyrax only loses 1 matchup: Kabal. Cyrax goes 5-5 with like seven or eight differenct characters, but he only has 1 losing matchup. So that's why he is top 3 in my opinion

There was some pretty effed up matches in that game. None were unwinnable, but that doesnt make them not really really bad lol

And if what your opponent's has shuts down yours, you are pretty much screwed bc 90% of a cast is designed so rigidly that they can only be played effectively with a single strategy leaving no room for individual input.
To me this game is very balanced in the same way that a game of rock paper scissors is very balanced, but again I wouldnt spend time and money to travel to play rock paper scissors competitively. At the end of the day, this is the least rewarding fighting game I have played. Wins and losses feel very empty.

These are all proven viable characters with numerous ways to play and no one single, abusable move. I'm ignoring characters that aren't varied AND viable since it's still a pretty linear game. You could probably include Shazam, Arrow, Lex and Joker in there though

Seriously though, the bolded is a pile of horse manure. There are a handful of matchups like that, but only a handful. And the idea that everyone is one-dimensional is absurd at best.

You clearly havent played or watched this game at a high level. Watch kdz play superman then watch theo. Watch woundcowboy play sinestro then watch P2W. It looks like 4 different characters. This game is filled with 5-5 match ups with very few 7-3 match ups to say this game is rock paper scissors is laughable.

I'm all for devil's advocate, but you've got to be a hell of a specialist and have reads of steel if you want to take someone like Kenshi with someone like Stryker in an actual competitive set.

Sure. I played Jade for awhile. I was still able to beat Kenshis here and there. But it's definitely one of the hardest matchups in the game.

I agree with DS and Batman on that list in terms of not being designed rigidly, but again thats why I said 90% maybe closer to 80% would be a better estimate.

My point is not that p2w's sisestro is not different than wound's( one could be better than zoning than the other for example and better at baiting). My point is that sinestro as a character has been designed in such a limiting fashion that a single strategy dominates his play. Superman falls under the character that is not so rigid, and that's what makes him so good.

But keep in mind, this is how I personally feel about the game. It's not necessary right, but just my observation and criticism from having played numerous fighting game. I could be very wrong. And again this might even be what the majority like to have in their fighting game, it's not necessarily bad. It's just not what I would consider to be good.
