IGAU: Official Patch Notes v1.06 (9/24/2013) + "Mystery Skin & NRS Live Stream regarding changes"

It's not some "amazing thing", it's his whole set of tools. Most Green Lantern players clearly downplay:
1.)His mobility.
2.) His zoning. He can jump jump jump and throw out the projectile from the air, he can continue zoning on the ground...force the opponent to come in and try and make a read and eat a B1 or a lift.
3.)No good Green Lantern ever throws out lift in a punishable space.
4.) B1 is equal to or slightly below KF's slide.
5.)Had good damage and had frustrating OTG's
6.)He is also the only character I can think of with the best and most options at the very beginning of the match (player jumps he can get hit by lift, if they stand still or make a move they can hit by b1, if they duck or dash he can jump back and zone)

I mean c'mon man...GL has so many GREAT tools...he will still be deadly as fuck even with the scrubby ass OTG's gone. He's just really good and it's ANNOYING that you and some of the other GL's whine about him. ;)
1. His mobility IS bad. Turbine is NOT an advancing option in most cases because his hitbox is too low and he gets clipped for it. And his dashes are pretty bad, too. His upside is walkspeed, which, is still slow in this game. It causes problematic matchups.

2. People are starting to dash under air rockets now. The floatiness on it also affects some matchups pretty noticably.

3. There's only a few off the top of my head that don't get anything from max lift range.

4. Better hitbox, but nowhere near the range. KF's slide is also backed by standard mobility options.

5 & 6. Won't argue, because that's true.

And I'm certainly not whining about him. It could be worse. I just don't think he is as good as everyone says he is. He's not bad, though, like, at all. If you don't feel he's close to top 10 at worst and you play GL, chances are you're biased as fuck or you just aren't really that good lol.
 
Lmao. ACTUALLY, I tested it with an actual human. I was KF, he was gl. He did b1 by itself and got punished everytine

I'm curious Runway...when did you start playing GL? Cause I see you upload a lot of vids where you are playing him....oh wait...no I don't. Yes he does have really good tools. But when was the last time you out zoned a GL and he just dashed right in and go the life lead back. Let me tell you, the only Reason you are getting out zoned by GL is cause you dont understand how to deal with it. If you dont believe ask @AK Xenomorph when the last time he "Out zoned" AK cyusstrikes KF was. Clearly your forgetting about supermans f23 casue GL got rapped by that string on the regular, lol that shit was more free than NYC condoms. His b1 strings are not as great as you give them credit for considering, anyone with a parry can parry between the string, his over head version can be poked out of and is incredibly see-able, along with the fact that he is free on knock down. You dont actually need to waste meter to stop him from waking up, just block.

i AM playing the game for fun but i have fun playing GL and heres the thing about playing green lantern he is really vulnerable to zoning and has no answer for it and online its even worse and there is nothing fun about being gunshot/fireball/laser etc to death and my character being unjustly nerfed when better chars got off free? the other characters i want to play are joker and shazam but the buffs they got dont look great either and they both can be outzoned, its not "im quitting because my character was nerfed" i just dont wanna be zoned to death trying to play who i enjoy using

again this is all hypohetical idk if GL ost his vortex but without it he isnt viable

already did, an as I said, you people are just recording the cp doing b1 block. Try to record kf and do the b1 block by yourself, then come back and apologize.
you can't record the computer to punish moves on block with normals. (only reversal specials).

thats why you record the computer to do the move and then have them always block (its in the settings).

and even so. Frame data PROVES you can punish it with anything less the 9 frames and mid hitting.

don't be thick you fool.

and then if you still won't actually try it...... do it your way.... but have Superman just do his super.(on reversal)

you can punish it man, give it up. It's a tight window and probably unreliable online but offline it's easy if you're expecting it.

Also GL probably top 5 now with BA and Supes nerfed.

just use your trident spam. Superman zooning is slow against aquaman, more slow now after the patch. You can outzoone him and wait for the inevitable aproach. Then you can beat the shit out of him with your anti air. Also everytime he use f2, use d2 as a counter, believe me it does work with a lot of characters buy nobody use that.

Dude. I cant combo Superman safely. If I try to combo him and he's blocking, he can punish trident rush with F2 unless he's pushed to the very peak of the move.

Most of the time you have to do something like this on block: B1,2~Trident Rush~trait

That's how Aquaman stays safe against Superman and Green Lantern. The rest of the matchup is easy peasy.

you forgott to add the turbine crossup reset that is 0 frames if isn't blocked and can be done after a lot of combos.
Stay blissfully free. people have not respected turbine set ups since the wake up buff.

I have a little brother. It may be hard for you to comprehend so let me break it down for u.

I turned on my ps3. Put in igau. Went to training. Set the CPU the human. Asked my little bro to do b1. He did. I punished everytime.

3.) Can I punish lift from max distance with slide?

4.) B1 is godlike...NOTHING IN THIS GOD FORSAKEN REALM will change that.

Keep in mind I'm mostly salty because I rarely lose to any character more than I do GL. ;)

Look dude...it doesn't take a Bachelors in "Lanterns Might" to see his treasure chest of tools, so don't even play the "oooooooohhhh but you don't play him, blah, blah, blah" card. Quit acting like GL is mediocre and it's a sin to comment on his awesome tools.

Joker players are too busy crying about what they dont have instead looking for other strategies to compensate, why do people never learn?
The reason most joker players complain is because there is nothing to compensate for what joker doesn't have, he can't rush down, can't zone, mid screen set ups can be avoided easily. If a character is only good in the corner, that's not a very good character.

Lots of salt in this thread, loving it! Also, I love the "threat" of "I'll stop playing the game because they nerfed my character." LOL...who cares about what 1 person on the internet is saying about a game we all play for recreational reasons...those are the kind of guys that won't be missed.

The reason most joker players complain is because there is nothing to compensate for what joker doesn't have, he can't rush down, can't zone, mid screen set ups can be avoided easily. If a character is only good in the corner, that's not a very good character.
I doubt this so much, every time i see this its always the players that just think one dimensional or are to obsessed with some tactic they cant pull off. And if you know hes good in the corner then push them to the corner. Im gonna check him out.

1. Punish turbine with slide. Its hella unsafe on block

3. Idk, but spike punishes it anywhere so its still a legit punish.
