Does someone know how to jump+kick or punch and then ex-TP behind (in combot for example) because in practice mode it works like 1/10 times lol. Yet the stuff on the screen look ok. :\

This is a timing thing ?

As far as I know, you can just cancel into exTP. But I'd say there are better uses for meter usage with rain. :)

Well, it can be pretty usefull to finish off the opponent after a jump kick or punch imo.

I know we can do it (tylerlantern does in his combot videos) and sometimes I succeed. But I dont get it.

When I was with stick, the exTP gave me lots of trouble, even when performed from standing. I got better results when I did it with negative edge. So, down + hold block, then up + release block. For a long time I even believed that his ex teleport didn't work the way it was stated in the commandlist.

See if this works for you.

Well normally you need to up R2 down, what I do is just R2 holding and then up, down. But right after a jump kick on the ennemy it seems not workig all the time :\

i don't like the input for rain's ex teleport. i was desperately trying to use it online the oter day and kept getting the basic one. it looked like i was spamming teleport!
anyways, if you want to use ex teleport after lightning, you have to wait for the opponent to be at the spot where you can jump kick them and what i do is: jump and then kick+down, up+block, if that makes any sense.
if you just want to do a regular ex teleport... i've read that you have to press block before pressing up. i always try to do down, up+block but it doesn't always work out.

They're really needs to be another input for EXs in general, I can't seem to get ex-teles to come out when they're clutch. And I also end up spamming teleport, but online (never offline i can safely assume) it's actually a good way to bait an uppercut wiff.

oh, hey! i saw your rain online yesterday and was impressed! i even sent you a message lol
i'm also giving up trying to use his :en roundhouse as a wakeup. either he does nothing, gets hit, or my opponent blocks because they expect it.

Best way to do EX Teleports is by buying a Hitbox lol. I can only do them consistently on a Hitbox.
oh, i'm sure lol.
things like rain's teleport and sindel's instant air fireballs would be a flippin dream in a hitbox! but i'd probably dislike it at first because of the lack of leverage while trying to move. i think the hotbox is the reason some people don't do juggles.
what is the instant air teleport? where you press up, down, up to teleport while you're in the air?

No I want to be clear. I have absolutly no problem to ex-teleport at any situations of the game (jumping etc...). The only way it seems not working everytime it's when I just jumped kick or punch my opponent in the air and I don't know really why... I know it's possible but it works 1/10 times lol.

ex teleport is sometimes hard to do online, you'll get a basic teleport.
try what i said. use lightning, jump, then press down+kick and then up+block really fast and he'll do kick > :en teleport.

I tried to do this yesterday and it's hard indeed. I actually am on hitbox and even so it gave me trouble. I've only been playing it for a couple of days but still... Good damage though (~20%..?), I have to say I underestimated this combo. Good finisher indeed!

Also, hitbox makes Rain SOO much more better to play. The rh-cancels are a lot more reliable, the uppercut combo's are a lot easier and the exTP is consistent, even online! I can now combo 43, exRH-cancel, 43 pretty consistent!


Labstuff I came across yesterday:

4~RH, dash,4~RH, dash,..... frametrap...? The roundhouse is not cancelled.

The stagger on B2 is pretty good, I never used it by itself. Probably grants a safe jump for Rain. B2~RH-cancel, 3 combo's without even using using exRH but maybe only in corner.

lab * (Rain + hitbox) = fun!

But yea, I know that feeling too! Nothing like eating a full combo because you made the PERFECT read, but the game didn't give you the EX.
 
I don't understand your EXRH problems. It can't be used as a Wakeup Attack. Is this a glitch? Not EX RH not being a wake-up attack, but having your EX RH randomly not be an EXRH.

Oh, I glanced over the part about him trying it as a wake-up, I just have lost a couple of matches due to my ENRH coming out as a RH.

I'm just gonna blame that on the fact that I was playing online though.

mm idk. that sometimes happens when i use other characters but mostly happens online and with rain.
same reason i still get 4, 3, geyser kick instead of roundhouse cancel but this game does have some problems so who knows?

Does his TP is 100% safe if I block right after it or jax' upercut can kick my ass when doin it ?

I'm trying (instead of RH cancel) to make some tricky stuff like 4, 3, tp, f2, 1, tp, 4, 3, tp, 4, 3, RH in da face :eek:

rain's teleport is definitely punishable for people who are ready for it. it's more effective while used sparingly.
a cool thing to do is end a long combo with teleport and then grab when your opponent gets up. then start using :en roundhouse when they try to break the grab.
like, a combo that juggles the opponent so much that you the water blast will whiff if you end it with 4, 3, water blast. get me?

mkay. just for good measure, i had the AI Rain use wakeup attacks in practice and they were:
1) teleport
2) water blast
3) geyser kick
4) lightning
and all the :en versions. i didn't know lightning was a wakeup attack... cool. probably best as a full screen wakeup =S
