Hawkgirl's charge...is it a good idea to back dash then B2 when she wakes up with the charge? Give me some insight on this. I've went through hell today with a Hawkgirl player that put in my ass for a good 5 matches.
Jump forward 3 if you make the read.

I ran some pretty long sets with a solid Hawkgirl offline last night. Check my stream archive if you would like to see how I deal with that MU.

I appreciate the help guys. I had a 3 hour online crack session with him. The score was like 59-53 his favor. I understand the match up a lot more now. I jus need to some up all what happen, write a summery in my notepad and get better. Yet again good looking out fellas

If you explain the MMH matchup to me in detail right now, I will let this one slide. >.>
MMH has zero threats outside of pretty close that hit low, so always block high. His zoning is really slow for the most part, so staff zoning does pretty well, but getting in his face is a good idea. He struggles to get people off of him without trait, and his normals are slower than yours. Once he starts teleporting react with mb3 or just solid reads after he teleports. See if he backdashes/swings/blocks, and react with whatever beats that option. Never, ever respect non MB'd orbs in neutral game. If he does that, just dash past them in escrima or keep zoning in staff. Non mb'd orbs are only good if you decide to respect them.

He has standing lows/overheads, so block low until you see his super slow overhead come out. Don't let him do 22b3 against you, that string is plus but the b3 part you can interrupt for free. If you get in on him, you can run pressure like normal, but watch for his bf3 on his wakeup. The vertical hitbox on it is really tough for NW to deal with, so unless you can cross him up early it will hit you on wakeup. The rest of his wakeups are very punishable/can be interrupted on startup. Martian has trouble with people up close, like I mentioned, so play patient on his wakeup, or blow it up with mb f/b3.

That's pretty much my basic gameplan, and I've been playing MMH as a secondary a bunch this week. There you go <3

i honestly have no idea how this MU can be any better than 2-8 for MMH

God this MU is dumb

Yeah, most matchups I'm like, "Use this stance a bit more than the other, or use this stance mostly!"

For this matchup, pretty much do what you want. Unless his MB orb and pillar placements are like, ridiculously on point, then it feels hard for MMH.

Well alright then. :coffee:

XxM3LLOxX Np man, glad to hear we could help!

Sorry man, I just read his first and pretty much agreed with all of it. These aren't dick measuring threads...:p (Pun intended)

I know you're a great player and I definitely take heed into what you say as well.

Nw vs WW is quickly becoming one of my favourite matchups to play. McNasty and I had some real fun sets last night.

Advice on Catwoman MU? I just started playing a really good Catwoman player and I'm a bit lost atm, though I haven't looked in the lab yet.

Favorable matchup for Nightwing. From a quick glance over at the Catwoman forums, they hate dealing with him. Bit fuzzy on the details of my own experience as I haven't played the matchup in a while but here's the little that I remember:

Another instance where Staff shines. Just don't get antsy with staff pound, a good read on MB Cat dash kinda blows that up. Besides that, pretty much the only thing she has to contest your range is her whip (Iirc correctly her sweep is a whip too, really good normal). Her trait is good on wakeup from what I remember (Need to test if it gets blown up by the STD setup, probs does though), so be sure to have your anti-wakeup setups ready when she has it. The matchup is like fighting Batgirl in a sense; basically just stay at the range of staff where you can hit her but she can't touch you.

I've played quite afew nws and feel like mmh beats him soundly tbh
Reasoning?

So I played and beat Krayzie, who's Catwoman is ridiculously strong, 2-0 in tournament after I lost to him in the 5v5 (Then he ran it back in losers with Supes but lets not talk about that). I had to reevaluate the matchup, and this is the stuff you should know.

Use staff for the most part. Your j2 can contest hers, d1 gets you out of bad situations, and escrima can't compete up close against her. Watch for her j2, the hitbox is kind of ridiculous. From most ranges after a j2, she won't have the range to go low, so block high. Her high is advancing and is what she has to go for unless she is about point blank. If you can, bait out MB cat dash from full screen with fakes like d1 and stance switches. Also, understand that if you are pressuring her with d1 in staff and try to use 1f1 she can mash out b3 to counter it. Be patient, and understand that if the match gets crazy it's out of your hands. Air to air with staff j2 a lot, since you will win against her whip.

Respect the wake up cat dash. Seriously, you'd be surprised how often mb cat dash will catch what you are doing, even if you try and cross her up. Her defensive options to prevent jump ins aren't that great either, and you can pressure her fairly well with neutral jump and standard staff stuff outside of mb staff spin. If the Catwoman tries to go for the ambiguous catdash setups, just hold down and you get out.

Long story short, play the game patient, abuse your normal shenanigans, watch for impatient b3/catdash, and respect j2 if you aren't already air to airing it.

So @NightwingDayZero and I played about an hour, or 25 games of NW mirrors last night on his stream: Here

For any of you guys who want to see some solid NW, this set should keep you on hold for a while IMO. I'm posting this to the matchup thread as well because it should hopefully help with the mirror. I have a bunch of experience in it, and I think it showed a bit.

This set has everything you're looking for.

How to play the mirror. What combos to use. What strings to use. Setups. Mixups. Some things you knew, something's you thought you knew.

This set was the single best leveling long set I've had in a very long time. Very eye opening. Thanks again to Sajam for wrecking my shit so politely and giving me the feedback to make myself a better player. And again to AssassiN for calling me out on all the dumb stuff I was giving the matches away with.

I can't emphasize enough how much you need to watch this as a Nightwing player.

I know I said I was going to sleep. I'm absolutely exhausted, but I took preworkout before going to the gym at 9pm and that shit has me dancing on strings at 4am. :(

And a shameless plug: I hit 2044 matches tonight, I have ~8,000 XBL matches to go before I've met my goal. I will be doing my best to stream each and every match I play online, if that's something you might be interested in watching - hit follow and join me.

Tonight I was accepting every First To Five from the stream chat, I think I'll continue doing that. Hit me up on XBL at NorCalNightwing if you would also like to practice the NW mirror.
